I know I have already posted today but I couldn't pass this by without sharing it with all of you. It is a very touching tribute to President Gordon B. Hinckley. It is very real and I guarantee you will get teary if not cry.... sorry :)

Today is the day...
{You can click on the picture to make it bigger. The baby is the little "bean" on the right.}
The Dr said the baby was healthy and we got to hear the little mini heartbeat. I got all teary when I heard it, I just can't believe we are going to bring a little life into this world. We couldn't be happier or feel more blessed. The doc asked how long we had been trying and I told him it only took a couple of months to get pregnant and he said and I quote, "We should call you Mertyl" ha ha I am so glad that we were able to conceive withouth problems, there are many people who can't and my heart breaks for them.
My Dr is awesome and comes highly recommended from my friends that live up here so the baby and I are in good hands :) I will for sure keep everyone updated on all the baby happenings! I want a girl and Chris says he wants a boy, mostly because I say I want a girl ha ha!! But obviously we will be happy to just have a healthy baby.
Do you guys have any hunches or feelings on what the sex will be? We still have to wait a while to find out but it is always fun to play the guessing game. We did the pencil, string, and needle trick over my wrist and it said a boy.... but I am still holding out for a girl, just in case.Tuesday, January 29, 2008

GORDON B. HINCKLEY

He was such a wonderful humanitarian and spokesperson for the church. I have never heard any person, whether a member or not, speak an ill word about him. He was very personable and accepting to anyone he came across. He gained a lot of respect for our church through being such a down to earth and happy person.
He has blessed the world by focusing on building temples. There are so many people out there who have to travel miles and miles and days to go to temples. {we are so lucky here in Utah!} But they now can go to a temple. Now there are many opportunities for people to do temple work where they couldn't before. What a blessing!
I just wanted to say how much I loved our beloved prophet. I know without a shadow of a doubt that he was the true prophet here on this earth. He lead us with such love and grace. He will be missed. I can't help but be happy though, that he is now with his sweet wife. :)

Good Tunes...
Mew- Special
This is off of "And The Glass Handed Kites" album. A great album!
Architecture in Helsinki
Fast forward to 55 seconds for the music
Their song Lazy (lazy) is fun too! This whole CD will keep you dancing and cheery. The album is called "Places Like This".
Decibully- Penny Look Down
I haven't listened to these guys forever but last night it came on shuffle and I was so excited because I love them. The first CD is the best "City of Festivals" but their videos were few and far between so this is off of "Sing Out America!" It's a bit more political than the first.
Owen- One of These Days
Owen is my best friend Kristi and I's dream-crush-man. If we both weren't very happily married, we might be following him around the country and fighting over who would marry him ha ha So *BEWARE-after watching this video you may be in love with Mike Kinsella as well.* That is his real name, he goes by Owen for the band or whatever you want to call it, he does all of the instruments himself and is AMAZING!
Kaiser Chiefs- Ruby
This song is just adorable and happy! I have been loving it lately. A big nod to Guitar Hero 3 for including it in the bonus songs! I love to play it and sing a long!
Aesop Rock- None Shall Pass
Wow I love this guy! He is white and listening to him you would have no idea, I think that is funny. This is off of the album "None Shall Pass" but I really love the album "Labor Days", a really cute song off of that album is "No Regrets" but we like to call it Lucy. This guy is OOBER talented!
Tokyo Police Club- Citizens of Tomorrow
These guys are so great! They remind me of the Editors or a little of Bloc Party. They are just an easy listen and once again the whole album is great! Its from "A Lesson in Crime". They are coming to Utah on March 22 at Kilby Court. :)
I liked doing this so I may start doing it every week or two for your listening pleasure. I could go on and on but then songs would get over looked and that is not my intention ;)

Happy Friday!!

{don't mind the messy bedroom, this was on my way out the door this morning}
Second, the New Nervous play tonight and they haven't played for a while so this will be a fun show. They are playing with Another Statistic who is also a great band, but sadly this is their last show as a band... Because Elaine the drummer and singer is now in Neon Trees and I believe some of the other members are doing new schooling ventures and other things like that. The show starts at 8pm at VELOUR in Provo. So if you need something fun to do, come to this show and rock out with Chris and I and all the buds :P

I hope you all have a fun weekend!!!

Goodbye 2007
Obviously the most important thing this year was that I married my love and my best friend Chris in the Mt Timpanogos Temple on February 2, 2007. In January we were lucky to be able to go through the temple on the same day with friends and family in attendance. A day I will never forget!!! We had a beautiful luncheon and reception following our wedding... I will try to get those photos on here later when I am at home :)

Another fun thing that we did a few times this year was go up to our friend Jed's cabin in Bear Lake and also take the boat out on Bear lake and Pineview many times as well.

Brit's Wedding was another great event. It was fun to be a part of and we were all so happy to see her be so happy and marry the amazing Mike!
Bachelorette Party

Chris' and my birthdays are both in August. That was fun to do our seperate birthdays and then his parents threw a fun Birthday bash for us and Chris' Mom as well, she has the same Birthday as me :) I only have pictures from my birthday though...

2007 was also great because I became friends with all the ladies above and below. I really built a lot of great friendships this year. I love you girls!!!

Cooper continued growing this year and also experienced his first HORRIBLE hair cut! I have since taken him to a new groomer who listens to what I say and doesn't cut his nails too short so they bleed, poor guy!

He looked like a girl and was almost shaved to his skin.... I still get angry, obviously ha ha
The next is my trip to Michigan to see my Best Friend Kristi!!! It was so much fun! I have flown with friends and or family but never by myself so I felt like a big girl making all those flights on time and by myself. By the time I got home, I didn't want to fly again for a few months but this was such a great vacation. It was soo good to see Kristi and get to know the more grown up Lucy and see Dave again. What a cute lil family! I love you guys!

A couple of my friends met the loves of their lives:
Jeanette met Jesse and kicked the ridiculous ex out the door!
Steph met Sydney and they are getting married on March 8, 2008... I am a bridesmaid but I can't afford to buy the dress and pay to fly out to the east coast... so sadly, pictures will have to do :(
Halloween was another fun occasion and we had our first Christmas together as a married couple... I don't have the Christmas pics on the computer yet though... Chris still needs to find the cord to his camera ha ha

Rhett got his mission call!!! Nicole got her tonsils out and her deviated septum "fixed", But then they said it is still deviated... sorry sis.
Dad changed the family business from a Big O Tire to an American Car Care and have never looked back. It has proven to be a great decision so far.
Chad moved to Arizona.... technically he moved on the 4th of January but thats close enough. I miss him already!

Family Pictures!!!
We hiked out to the old red bridge. It is an awesome old wooden bridge that the trains used to drive over. It is no longer in use so it offers a great photo op. We hiked out there in the snow and went up and down hills and across the bridge and about gave mom a heart attack doing it! (she has a very bad fear of heights but was a trooper and toughed it out, there were some tears shed in the process though... bless her heart)
The best part was when we were taking pictures on the track that goes under the bridge... we were all up on the bridge and getting the kids pictures when we heard a train coming, so we jumped down and ran to one side, posed, and took some awesome pictures while the train was driving by. It was a blast- really got your heart pumping. Baby, my parents dog was freaking out and tried to jump out of Dad's arms so in the picture notice his eyes ha ha
It was a lot of fun! We wanted to take Cooper too but he is a bit more "adventurous" than Baby is, so in the pictures we didn't want him in he probably would have ran far away and Matt was the only other person there, taking the pictures. So he definitely couldn't have watched him ha ha Chris' best friend Ian is going to take some family pictures of Chris and I and some with Coopie very soon. So we will post those as soon as we get them taken :)
The cute Gordon's and Perry's

My boys

Chris is one of those awesome husbands that likes to do surprises for me... but then he can't wait that long so he tells me or gives it to me early ;) He is very sweet and thoughtful and always makes me feel beautiful and loved. Even though people think his nick-names for me don't sound the sweetest... pee head or pee for short ha ha I just think its hilarious. {especially when he got me a Birthday cake that said "Happy Birthday Pee Head"} I would go on but our Anniversary is less than a month away and I will write a great blog for that. P.S. He likes to take pictures of himself with my phone and make them my screen saver, this is his latest :)

Cooper... well Cooper is a bundle of trouble. He is the cutest dang thing around but he has taken a few detours on the way like: peeing on the carpet in the front room repeatedly {in the same places luckily so we always knew where to scrub} I believe he has passed that phase. That may have been my Christmas present cause its been at least a month since he has done that {knock on wood} When he was a small lad, he liked to chew on our walls, mainly the corners of the walls so we need to get Chris' dad over to help us patch the spots and touch up the paint. I could go on and on but I don't want to scare people that don't have pups and may want one at some point in their life. He is worth it, I promise! ;) The good things about him are: he loves his mommy and will sit by me and cuddle me non-stop, he will do AWESOME tricks to earn a treat, he is smart and when I tell him to go find his "monkey" he will run around the house, find it and bring it back. But most importantly he loves Chris and I and is the most adorable pup I have ever seen!! {obviously, he is like our child at this point;) }
Thanks boys, I love you lots!!! <3

RHETT'S BIG 19TH

{Rhett's buds shootin it up, he's on the far right}
HAPPY BIRTHDAY RHETSTER-PETSTER!!!
- He is very sensitive young man. He feels bad if he offends anyone and can be a sweetie. {thanks to having big sisters and no big bro's- I think} ;)
- When he was little he pee'd his pants till he was at least 5 ha ha ha We tried everything to get that kid to go to the bathroom ON THE TOILET. Which leads to the next thing...
- His battery-powered underwear! After pull-ups, rewards, punishments, etc didn't work my Mom resorted to these undies that had two metal strips inside the fabric that snapped into a battery pack in the back, when those strips got wet.... they made the loudest alarm sound you have ever heard!!! ha ha I think that finally did the job. { I eventually used those panties as part of a science project... ya I hated science, obviously}
- When he was little he would disappear all the time. We would think he was playing in his room and the next thing you know, my mom's best friend Jill would be on the phone informing us that he was at her house. If he wasn't there then he was at the Steven's, Cowan's or Grandma and Grandpa's {the cute old couple that lived around the corner}

{Benny and Rhett}
5. He was also an escape artist. One day he got in trouble and was sent to his room. We knew he couldn't leave because we were watching the door. Well it got really quiet in there so we went to check up on him and he was GONE! He had taken the screen out of the window and left! Mind you he was only around 4 at the time {I think} ha ha
6. He is a very good example to his friends. He has ALWAYS been a good kid. He has a strong testimony and has shared that with others. He would always be very sad when his friends would do dumb things.
7. He is the ladies man. He is always dating someone. Rarely has he dated a girl for more than a few months. {much to mom and dads relief!} One day Rhett brought a girl home and Chris said, "Is that Vanessa?", full-well knowing that it wasn't. Rhett said, "No" with a look of HORROR on his face. But seriously, I don't even know all the names of the girls he's dated!
8. He loves to tease and play with his younger brothers... even though he takes it too far sometimes ;)
9. He is a hard worker. He does a great job with helping my dad out at the shop.
10. He is good with his money. He saves it and buys things he has really been wanting or just keeps saving it.
{Rhett and Matt}
11. He is the hick of the family. He drives a big A truck and likes country music. The rest of the kids wonder where he gets his CRAPPY taste in music ha ha :)
12. He is fun to talk to and hang out with. It is so weird that he is so old and can relate to me in some ways. I feel bad that I haven't gotten to know him better in his older years. He is gone with friends so much that I rarely get a chance to sit down and chat with him. But I hope he knows how much I love him!
13. He is nice to everyone and has lots of great friends. He was a Student Body Officer in High School and did a great job serving his school.
14. He is so excited to serve the Lord. When he got his call, he was so stoked because he wanted to learn Spanish and now he will!
{boys and Rhett on the far right}
15. When he was little he went by Rhetster Petster Petster poo poo {added by the Big sis's.}
16. When he was a wee one he would give aunt Julee kisses on the lips and one time they shocked when they kissed and from then on he would kiss her and say, "ouch". It was so cute!
17. He is a scared-y cat! He went and saw "I am Legend" and made my little brothers sleep in his room for the next few nights. He will deny that he was scared though and will say they "wanted" to sleep in there! He must get that from my Mom ;)
18. He is a very handsome young man, as you can see from his pictures.
19. Lastly, when he was little he would let Nicole and I dress him up as a little girl and we would call him "Rhetterina" ha ha ha I thought I was his mini-mom. I always loved to help Mom out when I could.
I love you Rhett and hope you had a great day!!!! Have a good Birthday dinner tonight and you are still in trouble for not doing it closer to us so Chris and I could come! :(
{Rhett and Rolaids}
