Bridal Hair Piece #2- Mauni

I have known Mauni since we were in elementary school, then she moved to Springville for the rest of school, but then we reconnected when I hired her to be my assistant manager when I was the store manager at... wawa, Vanity. {Don't laugh, it was a stepping stone ha ha}  She is seriously one of the happiest, sweetest and most genuine people I have EVER met.  This girl makes you feel like you are her best friend and a million bucks all at the same time.  When she asked me to make her veil for her wedding, I was ecstatic.  She deserves all the happiness in the world and again, she is so gorgeous.  Here is her hair piece and I stole a bunch of pics of her cute wedding to share {with her permission of course ;) }

Bridal Hair Piece #1- Bonnie

I know I blogged about this earlier, but now that Bonnie is a married woman I wanted to show you guys what the veil looked like on her... it was GORGEOUS!!!  Here are a few pics, thanks to Bonnie for trusting me to make this for one of the most important days of her life.

My Very First Bridal Veil!

My old AE friend Bonnie asked me to make her bridal veil for her a while ago and I was a little antsy about saying yes.  That is a lot of pressure to put on myself.  Every girl dreams of her wedding day and wants every detail to be perfect.  I thought on it for a few days and decided that for personal growth and improvement, we all need to be pushed out of our comfort zone and challenged a bit, so I said yes.  The wedding isn't until January so I had plenty of time... this was back in the end of October.  Well November came and almost went so I decided that instead of continuing to stress about it, I would just do it and get it over with and she would have it in more than plenty of time.  So last week I put the pedal to the metal and made my first bridal veil!!!!  I knew I was capable of it but it was intimidating to me and I am a bit of a perfectionist and can be a little hard on myself.  But the end result was great!  I felt confident with the end product and was just waiting on her reaction.  I went to give it to her and.... she was ECSTATIC!!!  She loved it and put it on right away- which made it that much more rewarding.  I now know that I am capable of doing this type of head piece and that I can gain more bridal customers at the shoppe if that is a direction I want to head in the future.  I must admit, I was so glad to have it over with but I realized that it wasn't as hard as I thought and that I need to stop doubting my abilities.  So YAY me... I am so humble huh?

Happy Thoughts

Here are a few things that are making me happy inside and out!

• Lola is potty trained... welp, we are still working on the poop in the potty part.  But she has the pee down pat and even sleeps with panties on!!!!  Yay for only one baby in diapers at a time!

• My mom came up yesterday and we had a great time!  Nicole got to come up and have lunch with us as well.  It will be a Bajio trip not soon forgotten... wink, wink Mom and Nic.

• My sweet Mom bought me the Minnetonka moccasins I have been wanting.  But not before I talked the salesman down 30%.  Go me!  I didn't work retail for 6 years for nothing!

• I am going to hang out with some sweet ladies from my ward tonight, Girl's Night Out!  I am a little nervous though, I don't have lots of friends up this way and I haven't hung out with them before.  But I am sure it will be way fun. 

• Today I am entering my 3rd trimester!!!  So crazy and exciting!

• I made a couple new headband styles that I will be adding to the store soon!  Let me know if you want one if they aren't in the store yet.

The Pinwheel Flower Headband

It is normally priced at $18 (and may change to $20 soon) but this week it is only $15 !!! The best part is, if you would like a custom color that won't cost you extra. I just had someone order it in a cute plum color for fall. For fabric I have white or yellow (no pattern), pink, brown & cream (with small patterns), and cream with a green bigger pattern, currently in stock (I can email you the fabric options as well) unless you want a custom color. You also have the option of adding a 3rd small flower on the opposite side.

The Open House

Last Saturday was the first official Open House/Party for Daris Day Shoppe! It went well and was a lot of fun. A huge THANK YOU needs to be expressed to my aunt Heather for organizing this whole thing, letting us use her house, coming up with the displays and taking pics of all the products, oh and doing some of the food. {Ya she is AMAZING!} also my cute mom who did most of the food and watched Lola while I made some of the headbands and during the party so I could help customers :) I also want to thank my friends and family that came. You don't even know how much your support means to me. I am truly humbled by all the things you sweet people do for me!
