A Merry Christmas it was!

We had a great Christmas and were spoiled {I hope we deserved it!} Lola had a fabulous time, I think. She didn't know what was going on. But she got to be held by lots of fun people and we had fun playing with her!!! She is s gem. I won't bore you with details but I will show you some pics to recap a little bit of it!

Lola's first Christmas!
Chris and Nic. {She was a little blotchy from talking to Elder Rhetster Petster, I believe she said, "I just love you" and then started crying and had to get off the phone to compose herself.} We sure miss and love Rhett. It was different without him this year but he is where he needs to be, doing the Lord's work.
Hope you all had a great Christmas and lets get ready for a fun new year!!

So TRUE!

I couldn't pass up posting these cute truths!

You didn't know becoming a parent meant...

• Stacking today's unread newspaper on top of yesterday's unread newspaper.

• Eating dinner like we're trying to break a world record for the most pasta swallowed in the shortest amount of time. Standing up. {I used to be the slowest eater ever!}

• Letting your partner choose between poop and laundry as a topic of conversation.

• Figuring out how to pee without putting the baby down.

• Wearing a bra that looks like something from a 1930s catalog.

• Spending three hours getting the baby to sleep and then waking her up two minutes later to make sure she's still breathing. {luckily this one isn't very true for us} :)

• Forgetting what you were...

What a blessing this little lady is in our lives. I could play with her and stare at her for HOURS on end. I can't imagine life without her. She makes us happier than anything in the world!!!

Here she is with Santa for our fun night out with Papa and Granny Perry.
{this is a pic of a pic, I was too lazy to go downstairs and scan it tee hee}

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!!!
WE LOVE YOU!

I did it again

...dyed my hair that is. It is wintertime once again and we all know what that means in Dari's world. Dark hair, at least until the warm weather rolls back around. I am finding out that a lot of people prefer me as a blonde. What do you guys think?

I had to show you my adorable headband. I am loving hair accessories lately. Especially feathers!! This headband has inspired me to make my own hair pieces, jewelry, and headbands for Lola. We will see how it goes...

Here is one of my first necklaces. You know how I love gold jewelry! {pardon the chest shot}

I know this is a couple of days late. But I am sooo glad that Michelle won on The Biggest Loser!!! She is a peach. I am not glad that Heba won the $100,000 for the non-finalists but whatever. I was hoping Amy would win that, I loved her too. Watching that season finale was so much fun. It is amazing to see the transformations these people made. It makes me feel like I can do it too. {I said this while eating a home made carmel-thanks to Ashley- and a mini candy bar} So obviously it may not be happening for me as of yet. But when I get the motivation, I believe I too can lose weight.
These people and this show are very inspirational and I love seeing how happy they are with their lifestyle changes. I can't wait for next season to start! Click here to see the transformation of Amy and all the contestants.3
Here is Michelle, the winner, before:

and after:

What a beautiful girl!!

I had to share this last pic and video of Lola. She was being so cute and happy this last weekend. I love playing with her first thing in the morning. That is her happiest part of the day :)

TOM's

A quick little post to give you all a great gift idea for Christmas. These shoes are called TOM's and they are so comfy and awesome. Mostly because for every pair of shoes you buy they donate a pair to a child in need. To read about it go HERE, to watch about it look below. I love mine and our friends love theirs too. I just purchased a pair for a special someone in my life. {I think you all know who that is!} I just discovered that they make tiny TOM's!! I am going to buy a pair ASAP... sooo cute!

This really is a good cause. Let's help those in need and buy a pair for yourself or someone on your list :)

A day in the life of Lola

These are some of the things that go on in Lola's day...

Some days I run errands with mommy, go to Monica's or go to see Grandma and Grandpa
{note the babylegs-leg warmers... I die!}

Sometimes I just like to hang out and chill or maybe have a conversation with Cooper
{notice him in the corner}

Other times I just hop up on the short wall on the landing and be like, "I am so cool, I can sit here all by myself, look mom and dad!"

I love to play dress up with daddy

or have daddy style my hair in this awesome "ponytail" spike!

Some of my other favorite things are eating and sleeping and going potty in my diaper and I toot a lot too tee hee

Last these are things that mommy does with me everynight!
I love to laugh {mommy says: sorry about the poor quality. It was a little too dark}
Can you tell I am a little camera shy? I kept looking at mommy and the camera, I didn't know where to look.

Lately I have been doing lots of "raspberries" too!

Thanks for seeing what I do in my day! Hugs and Kisses!

It's Nic's Day and then some

For those of you that don't know her... this is my FAVORITE {and only} lil sis, Nicole. Well, today is her 23rd Birthday!!! I wish I could be down there with her to celebrate! But I live way too far North for my liking and she has plans with her fun friends anyway. Here are a few fun and random facts about NIC.

  • She has CUTE cute bangs

  • She can make some "mad" funny faces! {sorry for posting this, but have some pride in your "scary faces" ability!!}

  • She is beautiful and stylish
  • She is very clean and organized!

  • I have mentioned this before, but she used to love to give me piggy back rides... mind you, I have always been bigger than her.
  • She is a bear in the morning... {not that that is cool or anything, more funny and just a fact.}

  • She is the best dental assistant around
  • She loves her some Pearl Jam and James Taylor

  • She's the life of the party{notice the girl dressed as Penelope!! Best costumer ever}
  • She always harasses me while we are kneeling down for family prayer at my parents house... We sit next to each other at the dinner table. haha

  • Her second job is being a "muumuu" model! Nuff said.

  • She has some great guy friends and they are wrapped around her little pinky. They all look out for her and love her.
  • She is probably my favorite person to hang out with {for real}

  • She has a season pass to Disneyland {jealous much? I know I am}
  • She is a great aunt, even when Lola "misbehaves" while she is around ;)

{you didn't think you would get a post without Lola did you? She's on her way to the babysitter in this pic}

  • She is my sister and I love her and I'm glad that we are sisters forever!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NICOLE!

On a different note: Check out this cute new headband of Lola's. Isn't it the cutest thing ever?! Go here to get one or something like it. Plus they are made locally. If you don't already shop on Etsy, check it out, you will love it!

Black Friday...

The day after Thanksgiving I go shopping with my mom, sis, grandma, aunts, and sometimes cousins too. So this year, as usual, we started out at the BYU bookstore and spent WAY TOO LONG there... then we headed to Zuppa's for lunch. Something I really miss living in Clearfield!

After lunch my mom, sis, Lola, and I went to the mall and did more shopping at Nordstrom... then Nicole left.... then Mom, Lola, and I did more shopping... a lot more!!! My mom would think I was dumb for saying this but we FINALLY got her her 1st pair of designer jeans!!! I was there to help her every step of the way. {You ladies know how buying jeans goes~} We found a wonderful pair for her and I happen to have the same pair, so we are twinners! Lola was such a fabulous shopping partner. She was happy, ate, slept, was adorable, ate, slept, and hung out! Next year will be harder, I am sure of that. I will take the good behavior while I can get it ;)

The rest of the weekend Lola and I camped out at my parents. Chris was going to join us but he got sick again so he stayed home to recoup while we stayed at my parents in the sick-free zone!! Some other things we did while in happy valley were:
  • Saw 4 Christmases with the family... way funny.... {a little bit of crude humor for the younger folk}
  • Ate Mi Rancherito
  • Went to Sam's Club... I love Sam's club/Costco ha ha
  • Ate a wonderful Sunday dinner
  • Saw Ryk dog pass the sacrament for the FIRST TIME!!!
  • Watched lots of Hallmark Channel Christmas movies
  • Watched ELF with the family... LOVE that movie!
  • Enjoyed 4 uninterrupted days with my little princess {that's my fav thing}

I hope you all had a wonderful Holiday weekend!!!

Some of the beautiful ladies in my life {L to R} Mom, Heather, Cheralyn, Lola, Nicole, and Grandma @ Zuppa's

The camera on a table so I could be in it... pretty huh?

Lola and I @ Zuppa's

This was on Thanskgiving... Chris bought her this suit forever ago and INSISTED we put it on her after her tubby time.... its still a little BIG tee hee

Daddy giving Lolita a "grumby", if you know him well, he has probably given you one of these {my apologies}

FOUR GENERATIONS

On Lola's blessing day we took a picture with my Grandma Gordon, my mom, Lola, and I. I am so lucky to have my grandparents on both sides. They are such a blessing in my life! At one point in my life, when I was younger, I had 7 great/grandparents. Family really is what's important in this life. I wanted to share this picture with you all. {I know it is in the post from the blessing, but I don't think I gave it enough emphasis :) }

P.S. I said I would put this next, original, picture on here so you could see sweet Taya. She got cut off in the polaroid version. What a sweetie!
