Music Monday- As Tall As Lions

I saw As Tall As Lions this last weekend with MINUS THE BEAR {love love them, they always put on an AMAZING show!} My hubby Chris turned me onto ATAL and I am so glad. These guys are great and they perform with a lot of emotion. Seeing them live only made me like them more. If you like Circa Survive or Mutemath, you will like these guys. So for those of you that haven't heard of them... ENJOY the lusciousness!
If you love them, don't you fret, they will be back in Utah in April and I will be there!

Music Monday... ode to New Moon

In the spirit of New Moon coming out this past weekend I thought I would share some of my fav songs from the soundtrack!! There will be a lot, so I will keep the descriptions brief. Basically I already loved these artists, so I am happy to see them getting some exposure. Even though most tweens wouldn't know good music if it bit them in the arse! {except for my bro's I have educated them well, which reminds me of the time that a kid in Ryker's class said he liked Fall Out Boy and Ryker laughed at him. muah ha ha I am a proud sis!}

The Violet Hour- Seawolf

Possibility- Lykke Li

Hearing Damage- Thom Yorke

No Sound But The Wind- Editors

Done All Wrong- Black Rebel Motorcycle Club

Slow Life- Grizzly Bear

Ok I promise I am done! Good job to the soundtrack person on this movie!!!

When are you guys putting up your Christmas decor?? I think I may do mine tomorrow, since I work Wednesday then it is down to my parents for the weekend!! I want to come home to a Christmas house :)

This is for Nicole

Sorry if this offends anyone BUT when I saw this, I laughed so hard... and its my blog... and it could be worse. A little background, my sis has said something like this to my mom repeatedly, so when I saw this comic I rolled and I had to post it.

Here is a little background....You see, my mom is the lucky lady that always gets "shit" stuck in her teeth and then smiles and waves to someone that she recognizes at the restaurant, oblivious. To which Nicole then says, "Mom, you got shit in your teeth". HA HA Then my mom rolls her eyes because Nicole swore at her and she laughs and we guide mom how to get the shit out of her teeth. {I am cracking myself up right now, I am easily amused} I am a casual cusser sometimes too, it is one of my many faults. {nothing too bad or too often but I thought I should throw that in there so Nicole doesn't feel like I threw her under the bus.} Here it is!!!!

The compact, your only "true" friend!!!

Her Grande Entrance

Lola's favorite thing right now is having you shut the door and then she opens it and comes in. It's a surprise every time for a little gal like her. Here she is in her adorable glory!!! What a princess.
P.S. Lola has been walking for a month now!!! She is very independent and I am not loving that!!

{ignore my voice in the background, I get a little excited...}

Music Monday- The Knife

I am soo sorry. Work has been ridic lately and I am now in the Primary Presidency for my church so a lot of my free time is spent doing that. But here you are with a belated music post.

My old Ipod has died and my laptop with all my older tunes is missing a cord. It fried almost a year ago and I am so cheap that I haven't bought the $90 cord yet ha ha As I was contemplating what band to go with today The Knife came to mind. They are so fun and different! The band consists of siblings Karin Dreijer Andersson and Olof Dreijer. I love the electronica genre so much and these guys were one of the first bands that I heard with that style. They are on hiatus right now but here is an oldie but goodie.

"We Share Our Mother's Health" from "Silent Shout".

Ok you are lucky, today you get 2!!!

Here is "Heartbeats", from "Deep Cuts".

Good Job...

...Shabby Apple. They have some cute dresses this Fall season, here is just one of them. This came in the email I received from them. Also if you want one of these for the Holiday Season {like I do}, swipe the discount code on the pic. It is good for the next week only.

Don't forget....

Imogen Heap tomorrow night at In the Venue!!! My sis Nicole and I will be there with bells on! A girl's night it is :) I am so excited! I had to miss Regina, which I am sooo bummed about. So I was determined to make it to Imogen.

I am missing a church function that I am supposed to help with to go, but it is well worth it. Her last show was A-a-a-mazing!!!

SYTYCD!!!!!!!!!!

Ok work has been crazy and I NEVER get on the computer at home, I don't have time... so sorry about the lull in posts this week. I guess we will skip Music Monday and go right into the highlight of my weekend!!!! Back in August Chris bought me 2- "So You Think You Can Dance" tickets, for my Birthday! I was sooo excited! I love this show and it makes me miss dancing so much. {I need to find a way to start back up} I took Jeanette with me and we had a BLAST!! Late Music Monday- The Appleseed Cast

This week is the big transition at work, where we are taking over all the Albertson's stores, so it has been so crazy... hopefully today will be calmer here at Associated...anyway, back to the task at hand.

I have loved this band for so long and felt like highlighting them today! The Appleseed Cast is one of those bands that takes me to my happy place when I hear them {like Owen does}. I remember watching them at Kilby Court a few years back and just loving it. They are great live and have an "aura" about them. You can tell they love the music they share with everyone. I tried to find a video for my favorite song "Silas' Song" from the album "Peregrine" but all they had were mini music videos that don't even have the best part of the song on it. Click here to go to the link where you can listen to it. But here is another good one. "Fight Song" from the album "Two Conversations".
