Burning Question #3

I had a few suggestions and they were all great so I was having a hard time deciding!! I thought I would go with the first suggestion and move on from there. Here it is:

"I would LOVE to hear what people think about in vitro. Is it playing God? Is it appropriate? How do people feel about it?"

So there you have it. What are your opinions? Remember, be honest and frank, we are all big kids right? If this is your first time reading this blog, welcome and join in!!

Here are some pics I took over the last week for you to enjoy!
Lola eating cheese at Papa and Granny's. I had just got home from work and she was excited!!

Lola and I took a trip to American Apparel on Friday and she picked out the adorable hoodie that she is wearing!

Not long after she had a meltdown, it was nap time and who loves being in a car seat? Luckily I was equipped with McDonalds fries. So I just passed a couple back, don't judge me ha ha

I bought these fabulous shoes this weekend and I have been loving them. They are great with skirts/dresses or cute skinny jeans. I am not used to wearing heels lately so my puppies were barking after wearing them. Pain=beauty, sometimes.

Last, here is Lola enjoying the new house that Granny and Papa gave her for Christmas. I always wanted one of those! She is too spoiled.

  1. I don't think it's playing God. I don't think that knowledge and info was given to us on accident.

  2. nope! i have friends who couldn't get pregnant any other way. their babies were meant to be with them....no doubt in my mind.

  3. I never agreed with in vitro. I thought if you had to go that far in treatment, your body was not meant to carry a baby. Boy have I been humbled. I do still think some people are meant not to do it for the safety of their child. I believe everybody's situation is totally different. The only reason I considered doing it was because it wasn't because of me that we couldn't have children. We had to have somebody else assist the sperm to fertilize or it would never happen on its own. I also felt okay with it because of the faith I have in the spirit and how it guides us. Adoption didn't feel right. In vitro always felt right once we decided to do it. I still worry we are playing God, but at the same time, how would I find peace in this if it was wrong? As Kelly said, God gave man the ability to figure this out for a reason. I am so grateful for that. I still don't even know if it worked for us, but at least I can have some peace knowing we tried our hardest. We are commanded to multiply and replenish the earth and when you struggle with that, it is a very hard thing to deal with. I feel very blessed we have science to assist with that.

  4. I'm all for it. I know people that couldn't have kids otherwise and I think we're very blessed to have another way of getting pregnant for those who can't get pregnant normally.

Lola is soooo cute and so are those shoes you bought, holy crap, I want me some!

  5. Never tell Lily about Lola's dream house...she would be too jealous!! It is adorable! I, too, always wanted one but never had one. Mind if I come over and sit in it??

  6. Oh, and I say science = advancement. And God doesn't really care what we're doing anyway.

  7. I think in vitro is an amazing technology we have and would not look down on anyone for using it. I think there are much worse ways people can "play God." This way brings joy, happiness, and peace to many people. How can that be bad?

  8. I think its miraculous. There are some scientific advancements that are just that and its easy to see God's hand in them. Imagine what it was like 40 years ago, if you couldn't conceive you couldn't have children. That is just devastating. I wish infertility treatments and adoption were more affordable! They are both blessings in so many people's lives.
