je t'aime

Yes, yes it is that time of year again. Valentine's is fun and all but we just had our Anniversary so V day isn't as big for us. It's fun to give little candy gifts to each other and such. But I'm not all about going out and fighting the crowds or expecting a huge gift, by any means.

I have been majorly slacking at this blogging thing lately. OOPS.

I however have been doing fun things lately:

  • Going to the Gateway with Nicole, Chelsea, Amy, Tami and her baby Lucy and of course Lola. Tami and I were glad the cute single ladies let us tag along ;)

  • I have started going back to the gym. So all the encouragement that you have, feel free to send it my way. I want to lose 20 LBS!

  • We went out to Ahh Sushi for Amanda V's birthday!! Love her!! It was fun to hang with her and Scotty... its been too long!

  • I finished reading Rockabye by Rebecca Woolf {a great read for young, hip mom's... that don't mind some honesty and some harsh language} and read Confessions of a Shopaholic over the last week or so {I've had the book forever, oops} and am FINALLY going to now finish Breaking Dawn... please don't kill me for not reading it already. For some reason I became disinterested and read a few other books. Now I am ready and raring to go!

  • Gave blood while the nurses were loving on Lola. Is that fun??

But I have a couple of questions to pose to the few of you that still read my blog... Here they are:

  1. Do you read your blogs the "old fashioned" way= one by one, going to each blog OR
    Do you use google reader?

  2. If you use google reader, do you think it hinders your commenting on people's blogs, because it takes a couple extra steps to get to the blog?

I look at google analytics and I get quite a few page views, but I get hardly any comments so I am wondering if google reader is a factor in that {AKA LEAVE ME MORE COMMENTS} :) It would make me happy. ha ha

I hope you all have a fabulous Valentines Day with the one(s) you love.

Lola showing you how much she loves V day!

  1. First off: That is a HOT picture of Lola with her tongue out!!
Second: I don't use google-reader because, like you said, I like doing it the old-fashioned way.
Third: I love your book recommendations--keep 'em coming!
Fourth: Way to go to they gym post-baby, something I have yet to do.
Your blog always inspires me to be better at everything I'm doing! You're awesome!

  2. So I'm super un-savvy because I don't even know what google reader is. Super unhip. I guess that happens to teachers. JK--I hope not!

Lola is getting so big! She's so dang cute!

I know how you feel about V-day and your anniversary being super close. My B-day is really close to our anniversary, which one day (when we have kids in a million years) will be right next to Mother's Day. Yeah I'll expect to get something pretty mellow for each.

Oh and I really really really want you to make me one of your cute feather handbands. I'll pay you, or at least please host a "Cousin Feather Handband Workshop."

I think this was the longest comment I've ever left on someone's blog...sorry :)

  3. You are too funny! Your post definitely makes me want to leave my two cents! Here goes for what it is worth!
I feel stupid cause I don't know what google reader is, so I guess I am still old fashioned.
I really want to read that book you mentioned, not Breaking Dawn, but Rockabye. I am always up for a good book.
Kudos to you for going to the gym. I know how hard it is to lose that baby weight, so keep up the good work. Even more kudos to you since you work and take care of your hubby and Lola and go to the gym. I stay at home and still don't make it to the gym.
And I totally agree with you about the whold V Day thing. Justin's birthday is the 9th so, it is super close to V Day and it is hard/expensive to celebrate both. So we just celebrate his birthday (the obvious choice) and hang out on V Day. This year is especially fun cause we bought Jaxon a fun Dora/Diego Valentine! I guess we can look forward to V day for the kids!
Sorry for the long post, and keep the blogs coming!!

  4. I personally like to use Google Reader for the non-private blogs...but I think most of the time I actually click on the link to the blog and read it there, so I don't think it effects my comment leaving. :)

So I have to tell you. It's a GOOD dang thing we re-scheduled on Wednesday. Cause guess what? I'm nearly 98% sure I have strep. I would've felt awful if I'd given Lola that!!!! For it is miserable! (Hence my comment leaving at 3am, cause I can't breath cause my throat is so swollen. So no breathing = no sleeping)

  5. Lola is getting so big and is such a cutie! I know what you mean about no one leaving comments anymore. My blog is private, so you have to log in to view it and yet I still don't get many comments!!

  6. I'm sure it is google reader that hinders both your receiving comments and by giving them, especially for private blogs, google reader doesn't pick them up, so I totally space it and don't hardly look at them.

  7. Girl...Lola is a babe. Fer reals, straight up adorable.

Go you w/ the gym...I can't wait to get all back up in the gym-ness.

Oh! And my answer is: Yes. And I'm sorry. I am a google-reader-er. I read {and enjoy} every one of your posts...but! call me lazy, the clicking sometimes does hinder me. (:

    Rest assured though, i love your blog & i'm glad we're e-friends. (:

    Have a happy day!

  8. I am a google reader fan and I too feel those who use it tend to not comment...I'm a good commenter, at least I feel so. But my analytics doesn't agree with my comments AT ALL!

Good luck with losing weight... I can't believe how hard it is. I wish it were easier.

I hate Vdays...I always get my hopes up for something a little bit more romantic and Daren just doesn't have it in him.

  9. Ok I'm going to try out google reader for sure!

And feathers...something with a turquoise hue would be great, but I'll be happy with anything. Oh you are a doll!

    Love ya lots!

  10. I/Chuls/Amy loved hanging out with you, Lola, Tammi and Lucy. We need to do it again. We like married-ers just as much as singles. Love you!
