WIN!

No offense if you like/wear these brands but I am not a huge fan and I think this is the greatest sign... if I owned a clothing store, etc. I would post this! {just to be funny, I don't discriminate :) }

It is kind of hard to see:

"IF IT'S ON

No Affliction

THE JERSEY SHORE

No Ed Hardy

IT'S NOT COMING

No Christian Audigier

THROUGH THE DOOR."

No Exceptions.

Don't forget to chime in on the "Burning Question" below.

Pics of the little one lately

Feeding Elmo and saying "cheese"Her awesome $.75 glasses, she kept popping the eye out... and moving, hence the blurry pics
Reaching for her balloon.
Playing her baby piano
Doing some moves!

On Saturday we went to lunch and to Sugarhouse Park with Amanda and Jaxon. Lola LOVES the swings! She kept being awkward on the swings. I don't think she understood that you can sit up straight in the swing without leaning on something.

ha ha mid-swing face!
see... leaning on the front now

What a fun gal this little one is. I seriously just kiss her and laugh with her all day long. She is so precious to me! She never leaves my side when I am home and I know that will change someday {too soon}. So for now I will enjoy every moment.

Burning Question number 4

I have had some good suggestions. Here is one that you reader's recommended. Its not a controversial one {at least I don't think...} but it got me thinking.

Disposable diapers vs cloth? What do you or have you used? What are your reasons for why you use what you do?

Music Monday- The Stills & Lola's Namesake

This weekend I FINALLY bought a cord for my laptop. It has been sitting dormant since Lola was a few months old. Ya I am cheap and didn't want to pay $100 for a new cord. So I looked on eBay and found one for $33 and then later...much later, got around to ordering it. I was looking through the pics and the music and man, it is like opening a time capsule. I love it! I stopped putting music on it when we got the Mac back in 07 or early 08 so most of the music is circa 2006 and before. LOVE IT! It got me thinking about some older stuff that I miss, so for the next few weeks, I will be resurrecting some older tunes.... ah nostalgia!
This week I will be talking about The Stills. Man I have some warm fuzzies for this band. {mostly just the older stuff} But this song is the main place that Lola's name came from. I love this song and this band. I just listened to the song and got chills... gees I love music!!!

"Lola Stars and Stripes" from the album "Logic Will Break Your Heart" (2003)

BONUS!! "Gender Bombs" from the same album {like I said, loove the old albums}

Bunnies and Junk

As you know {well most of you know}, I take calls from our retailers all day long. Usually it is pretty run of the mill stuff {late orders, item information, transfer to a different dept} but today my co-worker got a very funny call.
She said that she had to issue credit to a store for some toy bunnies. She said "Do you want to know why?" Of course I said, "Yes, please". She proceeded to tell me that apparently some toy bunnies that a store ordered from us for Easter were, ahem, anatomically correct...and they were all males! They weren't supposed to be anatomically correct, but they had little bunny wieners. HA HA We laughed and laughed and the first thing I said after she told me was, "I want to see those bunnies". We laughed more and another guy in our dept was wondering why so we told him and the first thing he said was, "I have to see those bunnies". We have been trying to call the store to get someone to send us a picture but have been unsuccessful so far.
The best thing about the call was that the lady who called to tell my co-worker about the bunnies kept giggling and at first said, "I can't tell you why they need credit" and then she giggled some more and said, "OK I will tell you why". Then told her what the situation was. So we all got a kick out of it and I hope you do too and beware if you shop at any of our stores and buy a bunny toy. You don't want your kids to live in fear of the Easter bunny and his little bunny buddy.

Dinner and a Chick Flick

A couple of Saturdays ago I went for a girls night with my lovelies from Payson. We decided to go "all out" and do dinner and a movie. Wowzers huh? But when you have kiddies go to both is a luxury! We ate at PF Chang's and went to the Gateway to see "Dear John". I must warn you, I am picky about chick-flicks and in general don't love love them. I thought the movie was mediocre but it didn't have as tragic an ending as was expected from a Nicholas Sparks based movie, so that was a plus. Regardless, it was sooo much fun to hang with these ladies and I hope to do it again soon!!
Molly, Ash H, Ash A, Sara, Me

Doesn't Ash look great for being 9 months along, she looks like me at 6 months!

I also want to give a shout out to Ashley H who found out last week that is she is expecting TWINS via In Vitro, what a blessing and we couldn't be happier for her and Ry!! If you want to follow her journey, click HERE. {I hope it is ok that I posted a link to your blog here, if not, feel free to reprimand me ;) }
Thanks ladies and let's do it again soon... well maybe a bit after Ash A has her sweet baby boy, due in the beginning of March!! So many fun things happening for these ladies!

Music Monday- Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros

Goodness I love this song!! It is from the album "Up From Below" that came out in July. If you like folk-rock, this is right down your alley. Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros have a hippy-ish feel as you will gather from the video. It is pure goodness!

Conversations with Baby Lou

I just talked to Lola on the phone and this was our conversation:

Me-Hi Lola
Lola-Hi ma ma {first time she has said that on the phone}

Me-How are you?
Lola-(gibberish)

Me-You love dada?
Lola-Ya {and more gibberish}

Me-I love you
Lola-I lub ooo

Me-One…
Lola-Two, weee {she can only count to 3 so far, she is working on 4,5,6}

Me-I love you
Lola-I lub ooo

Me-Bye bye talk to you later.
Lola-Bye!

She is starting to talk A LOT more and it always catches me by surprise! Our little baby is growing up. I can't believe she is 17 months now! We love her sooooo much!!!
See, so grown up. She wears mascara now! OOPS!

Tuesdays are my friend

Now that I am back on my old schedule at work and have Tuesdays off again, I am loving life! I use that day to do all the above and beyond cleaning and organizing. This last Tuesday was no exception. Lola and I hung around all day, got in the tubby, watched "UP" and cleaned. Luckily I was cleaning in her room so she could play with all of her toys and was happy that I was there to keep her company.

Since she was born, her closet has been the "chuck-everything-baby-oriented-in-there-and-forget-about-it" area. It was a mess and every time I would look in there I felt like a bad person, ha ha not that bad, but I hated it. I try to be a clean and organized person so it was definitely a thorn in my side. But it no longer is!

My mom had some old storage containers, since she has been switching hers out while spring cleaning, so I thought there was no better time to tackle the beast.

BEFORE

side note: the crappy Walmart diapees- Chris was trying to save a buck but has since realized this was a mistake. He probably wondered why I reacted so strongly when he came home with them. Let's just say it has been leak city around here! Plus Walmart is the devil, we had to use a gift card...

AFTER

Since we don't use her changing table anymore I decided to do something else with it. It is nothing great but it adds a little extra light and puts a few things at arms length.

Lola in my old tutu from when I was little, watching UP. She looks enthused eh?

Also on Friday Lola and I had a super fun day with my friend Jess and her baby Aiden!! We went and ate at the new Zupa's in Layton {love it} and then went shopping!! I think I should be a personal shopper. We had so much fun, finding Jess cute new clothes that make her feel great since she has been working hard to lose weight. She deserves new clothes for that! Lola and Aiden love each other I think... future BFF's...

We bought Lola this kitty headband for 99 cents, what a steal! They are so funny!

Music Monday- Avi Buffalo

Avi Buffalo is made up of some great kids... no literally. The oldest member is almost 21, the rest are 18 and 19, I believe. They released a single, "What's in it For/Jessica" in December. I have a feeling that these guys will be a band to watch. If you click HERE it will take you to their website and there are more songs there. Good stuff!

Projects and The Missionary!

On Tuesday mi madre got me started on my sewing lessons. I got this beaut for Christmas and have been anxious to get going. But you know life and with the holidays and prepping for the bro to come home, it got put off a bit. I bought a pattern for a cute and simple dress for Lola. We cut out all the pieces, ironed the lining on and started sewing the top. But we were distracted by many things and didn't get very far. So the next time I am down we will continue sewing. I am really enjoying sewing so far and can't wait to get more sewing experience! Who knows, this could turn into some things that I could add to my Etsy shoppe!!
{speaking of which I am adding my zipper headbands tonight, go check them out!}

Lola with the Husqvarna!
Remember this project... after I took down the Christmas decor, I decided I had a place to put these so here they are! I am no interior designer, so if my placement is bad... don't tell me ha ha

NEXT, RHETT IS HOME!!!
{please forgive me for wearing that yellow cardigan with my platinum hair, after seeing these photos, I realize that was a BAD decision...}
what is my smile doing?? HA
waiting

Lola would not hold still, we took turns chasing her, she would fall, say "uh oh" and get up and run some more
Lola and Uncle Ryker
The whole group, even my sweet Grandparents were there!
For once in my life, I look short!
Playing after the airport at Mamah's
Rhett worked hard all weekend to get in Lola's good graces. She gave him a kiss and a hug on Tuesday, so I think it is working!
We love you Rhett and are so happy that you are home and served an honorable mission. Now let's try to fend off all those ladies that keep calling and dropping by...

3rd Anniversary!!!!!

Today is our 3 year Anniversary. We were able to get away for a night this last weekend. We went really far too... SLC ha ha But it was at the new Hyatt Place Hotel {nice and modern} and it's right by the Gateway, which most of you know is one of my favorite places! We did a little shopping and went to dinner at McGrath's Fish House and relaxed. It was a lot of fun!

Look at this amazing person we created, not bad at all. Rhett keeps telling me that we did a good job when we made Lola :)I love you Chris! You are my best friend, live-in comedian, partner {in crime ha}, and love! Here's to Eternity!!
