Today is her actual birthday but we have been partying all weekend!

On Saturday we had her actual birthday party at my parent's house in Payson. It was so cute and a lot of fun. There was a minor/major {more major in my mind} We get all the shopping done and that last trip was "The Sweet Tooth Fairy". I go in and they are out of almost EVERY cupcake. Mind you it is 2:30pm and they are open until 7pm. I didn't call ahead because I was only planning on buying 6 of 3 different flavors and the last Saturday we went in to try flavors so we would know what to buy and there were plenty of cupcakes, this was at 6:30pm. So we thought there wouldn't be a problem getting a few earlier in the day. Oh no, I left the store nearly in tears. They were the big thing for the party since it was cupcake themed. I was MAJORLY disappointed. My mom and I called at least 10 bakeries and they either weren't open or didn't make cupcakes or don't have an actual store and you have to pre-order everything. My mom said I have a really good recipe that we made last week, so lets hurry home and I will make them. {SHOUT OUT to Jess Peterson for the recipe from her cute blog... go visit her, she is awesome!!!} We got home a little after 3 and had to get the food and cupcakes done by 6. We were stressed!!! Chris was a little worried about us, he kept asking how we were and how our day was. He is too cute! We ended up getting everything done {about a half hour late though} . I was very happy with how everything turned out and a HUGE THANK YOU goes out to my mom for all her hard work and help with the party. She is the best mom a girl could ask for!!!
Coming up next, the most adorable 1 year pics you have EVER seen {well in my opinion} and our venture to Chuck E Cheese with Granny and Paw Paw!!!
Lola,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the sweetest, happiest, funnest and most beautiful baby girl! You mean everything to your dad and I. Life would be so boring without you. The love you bring into our home is irreplaceable. I can't believe you have grown so quickly. {you can slow down now} I hope you always know how loved you are!! Have a great Birthday!!
Love,
Your mommy

chocolate is good for the soul

{I already put these on Facebook but for those of you that don't have one, here you go.}

My sweet baby girl is getting sneaky. Chris's friend Martin has been here for the last week and he brought us many yummy German treats including chocolate. On Sunday night we were at my in laws and munched on some of the chocolate. We put it in my purse and got in the car to go home. When I opened the door to get Lola out.... this is what I saw! I was so confused because we hadn't given her anything to eat. I looked in her chubby little hand and she was holding a huge chunk of chocolate and was having a great time! I called to Chris to come and look and we both laughed so hard. She is getting very clever.

By the time we got in the house to take her clothes off and bathe her, she had smeared it on her nose as well.

She is such a fun girl. She makes me smile everyday and each night when I rock her to sleep I think about how lucky we are to have her. I can't believe how fast this year has gone by!! She will be 1 on the 31st. We are having a small party for her on Saturday and she is also getting her 1 year pictures that day. So there will be fun pictures next week!!

SALE SALE SALE!!!

I have marked down a bunch of items in the Etsy store, I also lowered my shipping and added international shipping!! So check it out. The best part is...

In honor of Lola's upcoming Birthday, for the next week, I have lowered the price of my newest and most favorite item!!

It is normally priced at $18 (and may change to $20 soon) but this week it is only $15 !!! The best part is, if you would like a custom color that won't cost you extra. I just had someone order it in a cute plum color for fall. For fabric I have white or yellow (no pattern), pink, brown & cream (with small patterns), and cream with a green bigger pattern, currently in stock (I can email you the fabric options as well) unless you want a custom color. You also have the option of adding a 3rd small flower on the opposite side.

So take advantage of this sale!! If this does well I will start doing weekly specials more often :)

happy birthday love!

Chris's birthday was on Monday and of course we both had to work. But I did take him, and his buds at work, some cupcakes {princess ones}. He had opened his gifts the night before so after work we went to eat at El Matador in Ogden with some friends. It was a great time. Then some of the kids came to our house after to hang out and watch movies. Lola was at Granny and Papa's while we went to dinner, she had a great time too!

Here are some pics from dinner.
Our server was a riot and as you can tell, she loved Chris... I think she was trying to steal him from me ha ha

Everyone minus me {the photographer}

This one didn't work out so well but it has a great story behind it... Right after this pic was taken. A rather strange/drunk man approached us, namely Ian. He asked if he was from Russia and if he was a skateboarder and said he knew him from somewhere. He then asked Ian to step out of the group and come talk to him. At one point we think the man said, "Keep rockin in the free world...". We are not sure though, seeing as how he wasn't really speaking in complete sentences. Poor Ian kept saying how he hadn't lived here all summer and he has been unemployed for a while so he doesn't have money to give him, etc, etc. Finally I said we needed to leave and we left without getting a legit "family picture". It was very entertaining.

I just wanted to give Chris a belated Birthday shout out and tell him how grateful Lola and I are for him. We couldn't love him more! He is a great husband and father and does everything he can to make us two girls happy and entertained. He tells us frequently how beautiful we are and how much he loves us. {you can never hear those things too much}

So HAPPY 25th BIRTHDAY!!! {maybe I robbed the cradle, just a little}

* E Y E C A N D Y *

I was looking at this FABULOUS blog, it has some of the most gorgeous weddings I have EVER seen. It makes me want to get married all over again. {to the same person, of course}

little notes:

These are things that are on my mind...

  • Where do I get a cute cupcake tower or the cute glass stack able ones? Any suggestions? Lola's 1st Birthday is soon approaching and all things cupcake are needed!

Lola getting into the picture books, getting to know Uncle Rhett

  • I painted Lola's toenails for the first time the other night. I don't know why I hadn't done it sooner. Thanks for the idea and for helping Amanda!!

  • Ordering the perfect cupcakes for the upcoming birthday festivities: what kind, where to buy, what colors to use, etc.

  • Lola and her little attitude. Chris calls her the diva. He says she is more "stressful" lately. If this is stressful, I'll take more of it... although the horrible looks we get when she screams at the top of her lungs in public, I could do without. She screams when she is- happy, mad, impatient, sad... ok over just about everything. Where do they learn this crap?
    grabbing the camera

  • This sleeping face cracked me up in the car the other day, she looks disgusted

  • Headbands... I really want to narrow things down to the few choice things that everyone loves. I have a new style of flower that I am playing with now, what do you guys think? {more colors and variations coming soon!} What are your favorite kinds of headbands??

Sorry I skipped last week... for some reason it was nuts.

Not much time this week but here is a goodie for you by MAPS & ATLASES. From the album, "You and Me and the Mountain" released this year. They are good... so listen to them, please!

I am still alive

Things that happened in the last week:
  • I had a great birthday!! Camping in Fairview with my family. Chris's parents let us borrow their camper and truck so we didn't crowd my family in theirs. MANY THANKS TO THEM!!

Lola watching Elmo in the trailer. She was very into it!

  • Had a girls night/ b day dinner with mom, Nic, and Lola. The night consisted of Happy Sumo, Anthro {YAY} and carmel apples.

Sporting Nic's new glasses at Happy Sumo, she loves glasses!

  • A fun night with The Halford's. We went on a family double date to a new BBQ joint in Layton, it was some yummy food! Then movies and headbands afterwards.
  • Made a few more headbands.
  • Ordered some fun 1st Birthday supplies!!!

Lola standing. She can only do it for a few seconds but she is getting there. We have to stand her up, she can't pull herself up quite yet.

  • FINALLY received the high chair I won HERE. I put it together all by myself and Lola LOVES it!!

She wouldn't hold still, hence the blurriness :)

  • I went to a birthday dinner with some of my BFFers {Jeanetters, Brit, Kim, and Nat} at Thaifoon at the Gateway and did a little shopping at Urban this time. For Chris, not me {his B day is on Monday!!}
  • Went shopping at American Apparel for the 1st time... I know, where have I been?? {apparently not at Trolley Square} I am in love, especially with their hoodies!
  • I think that is it... I may have to update again. But thanks to all of you for your Birthday texts and facebooks and blog comments and calls. I felt extremely loved and you are all so sweet to me!! Thanks and I love you all!!!
