Late Music Monday...

There has been a lot going on this week... yes, I am working right now... on a Saturday. I'm done being nice and filling in for people. {ha ha I wish} So since we are really slow and there is so much good music to share, I decided to do this week's feature...... drum roll ........ Its She & Him AKA Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward. "Why Do You Let Me Stay Here" from the "Volume One" album, released spring of 2008. I have been loving these guys since I first heard of them when the album came out. First of all, I am a little-mini-obsessed with Zooey and I enjoy M. Ward's solo music as well. So what a fabulous collaboration!

This video is soo cute/crazy... love it!

Also, this is more of a side note, but have you seen Zooey's Cotton commercial? It is too cute and it shows of her adorable style. I want to be Zooey... OK its out there! She is awesome. Enjoy the short and sweet commercial below.

NO DOUBT, this was a great show!

On Monday I went to see THE SOUNDS, PARAMORE and NO DOUBT with Nicole, Kate, and Amanda. It was such a great time!!! We met before and ate at Chili's then headed over. When we got to our seats, we about died. They were so horrible! Way in the back at the very top {I guess that is what you get when you buy the cheap seats} So we eyed some better seats in a very empty section and ended up being able to stay in those seats the whole time!! We danced and sang and screamed and clapped and had a great time!!! I haven't been to a bigger arena in a long time, so I wished we could be closer and have the more "intimate" feel. But it was still an awesome show! All the bands were great!!! Here are a few pics to show you how the night went :)
Adrien in his tutu ha ha
The beautiful Gwen!
Kate, me, and Amanda
Nic, me, and Amanda {those are all some good looking teeth!}
Gwen and Kingston, we sang to this cute little guy for his birthday. Don't you love the head phones?
What a great night... here is to the next time ladies!!

I am moving music monday for this week...

There is something more important at hand. I am a member of this cute blogging community, its called SITS-The Secrets In The Sauce (click there if you want to see what its all about and join if you want). It is all about women {and a few men} bloggers. We are all about leaving positive comments and encouraging each other. Everyday they highlight a blog and that person gets exposure to their website. I have had nothing but a POSITIVE experience with this group and I love it. One of the things I love the most is that when someone is in need... WE RALLY! There is a mom in need right now, her sweet baby boy {just 2 years old} was just diagnosed with Leukemia. She needs all the support she can get. I am talking spiritually, emotionally, and monetarily. So I wanted to post about her blog so you can read along and donate, if you can... even a dollar or two would help. I try to think of how I would feel if I were in their place and man, it makes me want to give a bundle!!!! CLICK HERE to go to her blog.
This is her sweet little baby boy

Let's all remember how lucky we really are and hold our kids a little tighter today. {if you have any :)}

MUSIC MONDAY TO COME TOMORROW or so... tee hee. Tonight= No Doubt, Paramore, and The Sounds!!! I am stoked!!

My first homemade video

This time I made the video. It was a lot 0f fun and I can't wait to get better at these... next project {if we can borrow someones video camera so we can get the footage on our computer} is our wedding video!!! {Ya its been this long... and just as frustrating... we decided to do it ourselves after 2 years went by}
This little princess is growing and changing so much. My goal is to do one of these every month or so, so we can see her little tricks and such from each period of her life :)

Afternoon photo shoot

Lola was looking too cute on Sunday so I decided to have a little photo shoot with her.  We were able to go shopping with Granny {Chris' mom} on Saturday so she had a one of her new outfits on :)  She is getting cuter everyday and her hair has just grown so much all of the sudden!

Here she is...

She loves Cooper!

This is the perfect face for what she does right now.  She squints her eyes, sooo cute!

Papa bought her this chair and she loved it!!

MUSIC MONDAY

Today I have a lovely little goodie for you! If you have ever liked "Sunny Day Real Estate" or "The Fire Theft", it was probably because of Jeremy Enigt. This guy has an AMAZING voice, he was the front man for both bands. I have loved all of the music that comes from this man and the band members around him.

Well this week he just came out with his 3rd solo album, called "OK Bear". The song I have heard so far is, "Mind Ideas". I love it! I am going home to buy the album off itunes TONIGHT!!! I apologize that there is no music video for this song yet, so here he is live, {probably recorded from some dude's cell phone} but the sound quality is pretty good. Jeremy has such a sweet, pure voice and I always feel so happy and peaceful when I hear his music. I hope you likey... if you do, go buy his new CD "OK Bear"and his OLD ONE, "World Waits" too!!!

Oohh I get chills..... :)

Lola's slideshow

I had to steal this from my friend Monica, she has been babysitting Lola since I came back to work when Lola was 8 weeks old {sucky I know...} Well she has had a work opportunity come up that she couldn't pass on, so she is not watching her anymore. But on her blog she did a little tribute to Lola :) Here it is.

P.S. My aunt is currently watching Lola but is having a baby in the fall, if you want to babysit after that... let me know ;)

P.P.S. Thanks to Anna for suggesting THIS SITE for a vintage-looking swimsuit. I found one I LOVE and am so excited to get!!!

MUSIC MONDAY

I hope you all had a fantabulous weekend and Mother's Day! I know I did, especially because I won this AWESOME SVAN HIGHCHAIR from this website. She is the awesome, her name is Rebecca Woolf, she wrote the book I recommended a while ago called "Rockabye". A great recommendation for those of you who like brutal honesty and don't mind some colorful language... :) So that definitely made my weekend even better! We have been needing to buy the lady a highchair for a bit now, but so far have been either lazy or forgetful and haven't purchased one yet. This was perfect!!! I can't wait to get it and get one of the cute cushion covers for it! YAY!!!
Well onto the music, this week it is "Elephant Gun" by Beirut. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this video and want to be one of the dancers in it. {which reminds me, I have decided that if I hear a song that inspires me to choreograph, I am going to do it. I have a pretty big TV room in the basement that could definitely double as a dance studio-minus the mirrors and hardwood floor...} This song is from the "Elephant Gun EP" released in 2007. I love all of the different instruments used in this bands music and Zach Condon's beautiful voice. All of Beirut's music is great.

Do you guys have any ideas of good places {that aren't too pricey} where I can get a swimsuit like this, you know, the cute 1920's style...??

Happy Mothers Day!!!

So this being my first official Mother's Day with Lola out of my belly I have been enjoying the day and the gifts and of course my family. I even went out and bought me a cute dress/shirt at Forever 21. Because well, I'm a mom and I think I deserve it... right? ha ha

I would also like to say how grateful I am for my mom and for the other mom's and women in my life that have shaped me into the woman and mother that I am today. The role of mother is the most important one there is. I hope all of you have people in your lives that make you feel as special and beautiful as you are. I didn't get my mom a card, so I decided to just tell her what I would have written... then I started bawling. It was WAY better than a card. So being the cheesy blubbering idiot that I am, I decided to share this cute but extra cheesy video with all of you and wish you a HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!

Music Monday

Is it Monday again already!?

Here is another tasty musical morsel for you... It is "Planet Health" by Chairlift {from Brooklyn, New York}, off the 2008 CD "Does You Inspire You". You might recognize them from THIS ipod commercial. The video is kinda silly but the song is great!

What do you guys think of this one? Do you have any genres that you want me to highlight in the next few weeks?
P.S. Lola has 2 teeth now and loves to blow raspberries at you and then have you blow them back, back and forth and so on! She is growing and getting more personality EVERYDAY!
