12 weeks old

On Sunday Lola turned 12 weeks old. But Chris and I think she wants to be 6 months. She is so funny!

She will lift herself forward while she is sitting in her chair and car seat and wants to sit up all the time. I will not be surprised if she sits up, by herself, far before expected.

She giggles a little bit and is so reactionary to everything around her.

She loves to look/smile at lights and even likes to watch TV every now and then on the big TV in the basement.

She is her happiest first thing in the morning and doesn't stop smiling! I love to wake her up to change her and play with her while she stretches, smiles, and coo's.

Her head is increasing in size which causes her hair to spread aka she looks like a balding man {a little} the tiny bit of hair on the top of her head is even more sparse and the plethora of hair on the back is dwindling a little as well.

She is so excited for her first holiday season and has already been enjoying her first Christmas tree! {I am a little excited this year and put the tree up on Monday... tee hee}

Lola looking at the tree with daddy. {I know the angel is large and funny but my mom gave it to me and I believe her dad gave it to her...}

The tree all lit

We sure love this sweet little lady and can't imagine our lives without her now. We feel so much love for her and each other. We are truly blessed!

During this time of thankfulness I would just like to say that I am so thankful for everything I have. There are a lot of people struggling this year because of our nations financial situation and I am so glad that {so far} we haven't been affected. This year I really want to focus on helping others vs getting lots of presents for our little family. I am thankful that there are sweet people that my family can help out during this holiday season. It teaches you so much more about love and the real meaning of the holiday spirit.

I hope all of you are healthy, happy, and blessed during this season!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!

C-walkin' Fool

That's right, my lady is learning to C walk, thanks to her daddy :) Chris and I are both fabulous dancers {in our own little ways and definitely in different styles} We are starting out early. Her facial expression is the best, if you can tell what it is. If not, it is indifferent. ha ha We will keep you updated on her progress with this particular style of dance. Hopefully the bootie shake will be next, if she gets junk in the trunk like her mama.

If you don't know what the C walk is, please reference this 30 second video {I checked and there are no profanities in the song... or in this short chunk of it ha ha}

Here is a still of her "dancing"
This is a little bonus for you.
Just the cutest little face EVER!

There is truth in jest!

Dear Baby weight,

Hello flabby friend. I must be direct and let you know whats up! I would just like to say, I know you are a reminder of all the "fun" times we had together being Fatty McFat Pants {aka pregnant and extremely swollen in the summer heat} and you helped keep me extra warm and cozy {not that I needed the help in the summer} while carrying the sweet Princess. But it is time for you to hit the road. I know that you were cooperative in the first couple of months. Heck, 27 pounds of you literally fell off in the first week... then over the next 4 weeks or so, the next 23 pounds left just as easily. But now I have 10 of you left and it wants to stay for good! Well news flash- you need to leave, ASAP.

What is that you say? It's my fault. Ok, ok maybe it is a little "my fault"... So what if I don't want to "eat healthy" and "exercise". Maybe I like to eat pizza, sausage egg Mcmuffins, cold stone, and lets not forget Taco Bell. {These may have contributed to you getting there in the first place.} Maybe I enjoy sitting on "me hind quarters" and watching all of my DVR goodies, that have been saved for my viewing pleasure in the previous nights, instead of going to the gym. {With the pass I purchased over a month ago and have only used ONCE} What is so wrong with a little self-indulgence?

Fine, I realize I need to actually work to get the rest of you to leave so I can fit into my "skinny jeans" and wear form fitting shirts and not show off my voluptuous "muffin top". Muffin tops aren't that cute, I heard through the grapevine... I guess I will start trying. {begrudgingly} But if the hubby comes to you complaining because I am ornery and hungry and tells you that I cry because I want a Red Vine {that's for Mom and Nic ha ha}, don't say I didn't warn you!!! You better take all the blame too, because after all, my pain and suffering WILL be your fault. You need to learn to be a team player.

So thanks for the good times! But since Lola is almost 12 weeks, we need to part ways and maybe I will see you again with the next baby... down, down, down the road. Hopefully next time I will see less of you though. NO OFFENSE.

Sincerely {I think},

Post-baby body

P.S. Can I also blame you for the plethora of stretch marks and my extra, no-longer elastic, belly skin???? Because I could strangle someone for that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope

I stole this video from my friend Stephanie's blog.  I love it!  It makes me feel like in a world where there are so many bad things and injustices, there is still good and happiness.  When it comes down to it... we all have a lot in common.  This made me feel love for everyone around me no matter what, gender, race, religion, political belief, age, etc  What this world needs is more love!

What does this video say to you ? :)

pOLAROId bLESSINg

Yesterday was Lola's baby blessing and what a great day it was! Our friends and loved ones {some of them, we couldn't invite everyone, my family is way too big for our townhouse/church ha ha } were there and daddy gave a great blessing. Afterward everyone came back to our place and ate lunch and desserts to their hearts content and chatted... *merrily*.

Just a little FYI... not even 20 minutes after her blessing, she let out a huge fart/poop and when we got home to change her she had pooped her tights, bloomies, and underoo so Mamah changed her and gave her a mini bath. Thanks mom! Lola is a funny gal!

Thanks to everyone that came and also brought a little something for everyone to munch on!! You are all a blessing to us and we appreciate your love and support :) On to the Polaroids... {disclaimer} if people are cut out of pics, blame the Poladroid software, it crops it to the size of a Polaroid and Lola had fallen asleep so she is unconsious :P

Best pic! Apparently Chris is too tall for Polaroids. P.S. He took his tie off already so I told him he looked like he was getting baptized HA HA

Thats better

Brit and Jeanette, some of my best friends!

Honesty

{DISCLAIMER: I am normally a very happy person but I want to be honest on here and I feel like this is what I need/want to communicate today. I don't want people to feel like I am trying to have a pity party... this is just me being honest. I am sure I will feel better tomorrow :) }

Today while talking to my boss I realized:
  • I am not going to be able to work a day from home each week like I had been prayerfully and hopefully anticipating.
  • I am without my daughter more days a week than I am with her.
  • I am missing some of the "firsts" she will have while she is with the sitter.
  • Therefore, I feel like I am missing a lot of her being a baby.
  • I feel very sad today for myself.
  • Maybe I am not as ok with coming back to work as I thought I was.
  • I kinda, sorta feel like a bad mom even though I know I am doing everything I am doing for her and our family.
  • I am very, very jealous of mom's that can stay at home {at least most of the time}
  • Maybe I need to pray on my current situation...
  • I don't know how mom's that work full time all the time can do it {you are brave}
  • These are the people that make me happy everyday

  • This is where I would rather be...

P.S. Sorry to be so depressing. I'm just having a hard day. Thanks for listening.

Ali and friends

This last week my friend Ali was in town from Florida!!! She used to live here but moved home and has been gone for 9 months now... crazy. So it was a treat to have her here and pick up where we left off!!

These pics are from last Friday when Ali, Rachel, Lily {Rachel's baby}, Lola, and I went to dinner at Happy Sumo and then went back to Rachel's and played and goofed off {OBVIOUSLY} and had lots of silly girl talk. I love me some fun times with my girlfriends! I also got to meet Ali's new "boo", Spencer and he is a heart-melter, the kind of lil guy you wanna put in your pocket and carry around with you ha ha

{These pics were after we put the babies to bed!}
I had to show all of these so you could see the progression of silliness...

No smile from Rachel...

We got a little bit of a smile from Rachel...

A smile but also Ali fake-cupping Rachel's boob, blindly, since that is not where her boob is ha ha

Last but certainly not least, the ultimate silliness.... if you only knew!

We were all able to go out on Monday night to PF Changs and the Gateway!! No pics, sadly. So Ali, Rachel {and Spencer} thanks for a fun time while cute lil Ali was in town. I'll miss you all!!!

Lola's Birth Announcement

My cute friend Jessica Peterson made these darling announcements for us. We are sending them to people that don't live around here, Chris' family, and such. So in case you don't get one, because most of you have already met her in person, here it is. I want to say thank you so much to Jess. She is a great designer and if you need any cards, announcements, business cards, invites, etc, give her an email... her blog site is http://jpcreativedesign.blogspot.com/. Check her out!

Wow I haven't laughed this hard in a long time

The Office last night was fabulous! It had some very funny stuff in it and this was one of my favorite scenes ever!! {ok its ghetto and someone recorded it from their TV but whatever}

Happy Voting Day!!

VOTE

Regardless of who you are voting for, just get out and vote. We live in a country where we are lucky enough to have a say in who runs our country {to a certain point} So if you care about America and/or like to voice your opinion about it, you better be voting. Hopefully whoever wins really will bring about change to our country... in a good way! :)

{I'm going to regret not voting early, while I am waiting in line after work today...}

{This is my cute sign I bought off Etsy and put in my office in honor of election day :) }

Two months...

As of Friday Lola is 2 months old!!! Time flies... Here are her stats {as of her 2 month appt last monday}:

  • Height: 23 3/4"
  • Weight: 12 lbs 2oz
  • She is in the 97th percentile for height and weight and 80th for the size of her head.
  • She got some immunizations and did great!! {although she cried for just a minute in a way I had never heard before :( }
  • She is doing great at tummy time. She has neck muscles like a champ!
  • She smiles and giggles all the time now
  • Here she is on the day she was born
  • Here she is in her cute new Sunday dress yesterday. She was being such a good girl! {Sorry for the camera phone quality.}

Here are some of the cutest pics that Monica took while Lola was getting babysat! Thank heavens Monica is taking cute pics or things I'm not seeing while at work :) {look how beautiful Monica's kids are!}

Look at those eyes- while we were at dinner with the ladies a bit ago, Sindee's daughter Kendyl said it looked like Lola's eyes were gonna pop out... Now you see why she said that ha ha

I die over this picture!!! Look at that smile. I LOVE IT!!

So our baby girl is growing up too fast but I swear she gets cuter every single day... at least Chris and I think so!

Halloween costume pics to come...
