Tagged... High School

1. Did you date someone from your school? not really... I went to a couple dances with people but that's about it... I liked the out of towners!

2. What kind of car did you drive? 1st- cornbleet barfus, the '88 Oldsmobile cutlass, 2nd- my 2000 Plymouth neon.

3. What was the most embarrassing moment of HS? Wow there are a lot, the best one was on the last day of school my senior year, when I broke John Cooper's trampoline while Amanda and I were jumping on it... the story is way better in person!

4. Were you a party animal? No, but we partied pretty hard without any substances ha ha

5. Were you considered a flirt? Somewhat... I liked to be real with guys and that worked too ;)

6. Were you in band, orchestra, or choir? I was in concert choir and Trouveres (an a Capella, show choir)

7. Were you a nerd? I don't know, I liked to act silly, so maybe ha ha

8. Were you on any varsity teams? Well I quit Drill Team my senior year for Dance Company and Trouveres but I did letter in it :)

9. Did you get suspended/expelled? Nope, good girl.

10. Can you still sing the fight song? I don't even remember if we had one...

11. Who were your favorite teachers? Coach McKee (Tommy, that was a fun class!) Nichole Ortega, best dance teacher and friend ever! Mr (coach) D was pretty awesome too, when he wasn't ornery... right Ash?

12. Where did you sit during lunch? We sat across from the gym with the crazy basketball players that would tear off our tear-out warm up pants and then we ate out a lot too.

19. Have you gained some weight since then? A little but then I got pregnant, so now its a lot...

20. Who was your prom date? Brandon of course

21. On you planning on going to your 10 year reunion? Probably, if my friends help put it together again, I may get killed by them if I don't.

22. Looking back, what advice would you give yourself? I feel like I was pretty ambitious and on top of stuff in high school. I had a pretty good attitude for a teenager and I enjoyed it a lot. So no regrets!

Tag 5 people: Ashley A, Ashley H, Brooke, Jeanette, Brit. But I would love to hear more than just theirs... oh the high school years!

Busy weekend

Thursday night I had such a fun baby shower that my mother-in-law threw for me. She did it at Ligori's restaurant in Layton. Yummy all you can eat, salad, pizza, and soda!! All my friends from up north were there and they were all so generous with their gifts. I am blessed to have so many great people in my life! I will post pics later, I forgot to bring my camera cord today... I am a space cadet.

Friday my mom, aunt Cheralyn, and I, {and little Chase guy, well he played with trains and watched kid shows on TV} worked all day {and night} in the Lola's room. Chris helped a bunch in the evening as well. It is pretty much completed now except for a little finishing work which my mom is coming to wrap up on Tuesday. So I decided I would give you a little sneak peek.... don't look too close yet, we still need to get some of the molding on the bead board put up and touch up a bit but I am so excited with how it is coming along. It looks great! Thanks so much to my mom for seriously doing almost all of it. She is way more talented at this remodelling stuff than I am. Probably why her house looks so fabulous!!! We did manage to take a break and eat at one of the best restaurants in Clearfield! Cheralyn's hubby joined us and we all went and ate at Cafe Trang, mmm yummy different kinds of asian food and such. The best part of eating was that Chase was calling the chop sticks, funny sticks and he asked his mom. "Do you have funny sticks?" But it sounded like "...Funny sex" and he yelled it HA HA it was awesome, we laughed sooo hard!!

Saturday I headed down to Utah county for my last baby shower. My aunt Heather and my sis Nicole did it for me at my Aunt's beautiful home. It was soo fun, we just ate and relaxed and chatted. It was with my mom's side of the family. Just small and intimate. My aunt gave me some of her great, barely used, hand me downs and man was I glad to get them. We can officially take Lola home from the hospital now that I have a car seat ha ha

On the way home, I went to my friends Amanda's wedding ceremony at a nice gold course out in Saratoga Springs. Then I headed back home and Chris and I decided to a nice date since it maybe one of/the last one we will get EVER... ha ha maybe not ever, but for a while ;) We headed to Red Lobster and man was it yummy!!! I love my hubby so much, he is a sweetie and is so excited to be a dad. Hopefully he will still be this optomistic after a couple weeks of sleepless nights??
Today is another Dr's appt and we will schedule the C section. Yep she is still breech. So I will keep you all updated on when lil Miss Lola will be here!!!!

Smelly's Day, Chris' Birthday, etc

Well this weekend was Kelly's aka Smelly's wedding. She has a huge fam and so does her new hubs so the friends didn't go to the temple or anything. But we did get to go to the reception which was in a nice backyard and everything was cute and casual. A very fun time :) Congrats Kelly Anderson... yes her last name is still Anderson HA HA That is so funny to me! After the reception we went to dinner with some friends to Red Robin for Chris' Birthday and then went and hung out at Ryan and Ashley's house afterwards. Thanks for buying our dinner Josh!!!

This weekend Chris also had the opportunity to go to Raging Waters with his friends for his Birthday. They almost got kicked out of there too... what is it with Chris and being rebellious at water parks?? My parents, Chris' parents, and me all pitched in and got Chris Rock Band! We have been playing it constantly since. We are glad to finally have our own and we currently have a band named something Pixelface.... ya the game named us. But we are doing great and are now touring overseas. I must say... rarely do our scores get below a 98% for each of us. Ok we are playing on Medium but we will progress to the constant Hard level soon enough. Maybe we like getting 100% every few songs... ha ha

Lastly in baby news... we have the baby room pretty much cleared out now. Chris' dad and his friend surprised us and put up the crib while we were on our way home from work. We sold both the things we listed on KSL ( I love you KSL) and I have been working on other little nursery projects until we do the big haul this Friday- painting, bead boarding and finishing her up!! We went to Home Depot last night and bought all the supplies. Such a great deal... I am quite pleased in our nursery budgeting skills!! Here are some pics of our progress :)

I framed the wall hangings. Michael's was having a sidewalk sale and everything was marked down!! (and the crib not put together yet)

But wait, the crib is put together now and I can't wait til after we paint to put the bedding in it!!
Chris helping me paint the letters I bought at Michael's. He is a good little "evil elf"
helper!
The finished product. We are crafty sometimes.... see!

The Dr says since Lola is getting so big and is my first child that turning her is not looking like it will be successful. So we are waiting until my appt next Monday to see if she has flipped and decide whether it is worth it to try turning her. Otherwise Doc says he is scheduling a C-section on Sept 1st. That's right, Labor Day. Apparently he is very dedicated and works all holidays. (like he has much of a choice...) But I might ask him if we could do it the weekend before and let him relax a little on Monday, then we could have the option of sending her to school a year early vs being forced to have her wait until the next year. That means WE ARE HAVING A BABY IN LESS THAN TWO WEEKS!!! WE ARE SO EXCITED!

The Annual Gordon Reunion

This last weekend we went to Fairview with the family. It was a lot of fun and even little Coop got to come along. We stayed with my family in their RV. Thursday night we ate a great BBQ/dutch oven dinner completed with fruit cobbler and ice cream and all sat around chatting. Friday we ate more, chatted more, swam {and some successfully got kicked out}, played games, had a little Birthday party for Grandpa, {his is the day after mine}, the kids hit a piniata and then we watched some old reels of family home videos. That was definitely the best part. Seeing Brad's kick A moustache, my dad's semi-mullet and huge braces, Elizabeth's "boy haircut" and then her performance and triumph at the Miss Lake Shore Pageant. There were many more amazing things but those are some of the highlights. :) Saturday everyone ate a yummy breakfast {thanks Mom} and then headed out. {Pics to come}

Saturday night Chris and I went to a party for our good friend Devin. He got in a bad accident last year at work and messed up his leg, was in the hospital for months for surgery after surgery. Well it has been a year since then and he is doing great! So to celebrate, his cute fiance Lisa threw him a party. It was at Noah's in Lindon and we all had such a fun time, eating, playing pool, playing guitar hero and watching Chris try to kiss Devin on the cheek ha ha {note the pics below...} It was fun to spend time with some great friends and celebrate Devin's journey with his leg.... thus far. He has another surgery today and is in our prayers!

and again, apparently I think that is very funny... Ash looks intrigued as well...

Last night some of my friends took me out for a belated Birthday dinner to Happy Sumo!!! It had been way too long since I had eaten there!! I think Chris and I may go again this week to use my Birthday gift card there! I can't get enough. After dinner we shopped around a little and got some carmel apples at Rocky Mtn Chocolate Factory... yummy. But we forgot to take pics :( So thanks ladies for a fun night, you're awesome!!
P.S. Also we are selling a desk on KSL if anyone needs one, here is the link.... http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=218&ad=4002756&cat=
We are selling a dresser too but we have had tons of calls for it already. Uts probably gone tonight :)

Birthdays and such

I thought I should give a baby update since we had an appt on Monday. Well I am not dilated at all and that is partly due to the fact that Lola is doing whatever the heck she wants in here. She is breech still and is doing her own little thing. Doc says we will cross our fingers that she will turn and I will just go into labor, no problem! BUT if that doesn't go so well I need to prepare myself for a C section... don't you worry though. I have been researching how to get babies to turn so I will be trying a bunch of things to see if she will cooperate and do what babies about to be born are supposed to do and get her head out of my rib cage! P.S. She is now 7 lbs... ya we still have a month left.

Here is a method I am going to try to get her to turn, the inversion... looks fun huh?! Hopefully I don't fall on my face. *knock on wood*

Also I will be talking to her, letting her listen to music, swimming and all sorts of things that are supposed to help. But if she doesn't do it on her own I will ask my Dr about having him turn her or going to a chiropractor who specializes in the "Webster Method", a way of turning babies. HOORAY!!! Cross your fingers that Lola will just turn on her own!

Also yesterday was my Birthday!!! The BIG 25!! I am a very selfish and immature person when it comes to my birthday. I want to take the day off work and be pampered and spoiled all day. Well this year I became a big girl and I worked on my Birthday!! {I had the day before off to help my mom prepare for my baby shower at her house that night and I also didn't want to drive back and forth to my house 2 days in a row so I stayed at her house Monday night making it impossible for me to take my bday off because I am also taking Friday off for our annual Gordon family reunion.} But after work yesterday my family{minus Dad} and Chris' parents went with Chris and I to dinner. Chris' mom and I have the same birthday, so double the fun!! We tried to go to the Cheesecake Factory but of course for some crazy reason it was packed on a Wednesday night and they couldn't get our party of 8 in for an hour and a half to two hours. No thank you! We opted for Olive Garden and only waited maybe 15 minutes to get in. Thank you Olive Garden for always having yummy food and fairly fast service! Then Chris and I and his parents went to Whole Foods in Salt Lake and got some great Gluten Free food for the 2 celiacs ;)

So this week has been a little crazy between a high school friends dinner on Monday because Brooker was in town from NY,

Sara, Kelly, Amanda, me, Molly, Brooke, and Jaime

not sure what is going on here ha ha

a baby shower on Tuesday night in Payson, the Birthday's yesterday, and this afternoon we leave for Fairview to camp with the fam and the dogs ;) I am excited for a weekend filled with chatting and laughing, eating, swimming and most importantly causing a ruckus at the pool and my hubby, Paige's hubby, and the little boys getting kicked out! {this will make it 3 years in a row ha ha} Hope you all have a great weekend!

Here is Anna and I, Brit just sent me this pic this week. I had to add it, I love Anna!!

Big ole BABY blog

This has been quite the baby week! I started out on Monday getting maternity photos from the cutest little lady! She found me on Cafemom.com and offered me a free maternity photo shoot and 4 free prints, then a free newborn baby sitting once Lola is here. All we will pay for are the prints we want of our little angel baby. She is just starting to do more maternity shoots and wants some practice. Last night she put up a sneak peek of my photo shoot. They turned out cute! I was a little self conscious because I do not have this adorable little preggo body but she made me look cute and got rid of all my stretch marks, thanks to Photoshop!! So here are a few... too bad she didn't skinny up my pregnant arms HA HA Here is her blog address if you wanna check out some of her other stuff. http://kamivoilesphotography.blogspot.com/

Chris is such a little cutie! Notice I have no wedding ring on.... it hasn't fit for months :(

Next was Wednesday night... I had the funnest (isn't that a real word in the dictionary now?) baby shower, thrown by my sweet and beautiful friends- Brittney and Jeanette. They are so awesome to have done this for me! It was so much fun and the food and game were great! I had so many of my amazing friends from all different groups of friends there and we all chatted and laughed and had a great time. I really do have some wonderful people in my life. Thank you all for the sweet gifts you gave Lola and I and for your company as well!! The night was a hit! Here are some pics of me in my preggo glory with all my lovely friends and my lovely sis too!
