Being grateful!

I have been wanting to post something for a few days and I am having a hard time coming up with anything to blog about... so I thought I should probably do something worthwhile and that is when I decided that I don't talk about my blessings and things I am grateful for enough... So here are some things I am loving lately or are just plain thankful for!

~My cute husband always!

{Chris and John}

~TUMS

Oh heartburn....

~Lola

~Bottomless Express Lunch Special at Chili's

~Babycenter.com and Cafemom.com

There are some sweet mommies on these websites that have been fun to get to know, ask questions to, and also I love my babycenter emails every week. Telling me how little Lola is growing!

~Cooper and his little noises he makes when I am not giving him enough attention

~Good Friends

~My family

~Rhett on his mission

~Popsicles

~Good Music

{Circa Survive- The Difference Between Medicine and Poison is The Dose}

~Cheap Maternity Clothes at Old Navy

~This book to occupy my time now that all the best TV shows are wrapped up for the season. {and that cute lil Angela from the show was pregnant this season and had a little baby girl in the beginning of May!}

Many more things too, but this will suffice for now :)

Idol of sadness...

{Disclaimer: sorry if I am a creep for acting like I know this guy and was overly-emotionally involved in the happenings of last night... with that being said...}

...Ok maybe its not that bad. But I was fairly shocked that my little man David Archuleta did not win last night. Both of the David's are very talented but I am sorry David A's voice is unbeatable! That lil guy has talent emanating from his fingertips.

I do know, however, that taking 2nd place on American Idol ain't a bad gig. He will have just as many, if not more, opportunities than his competitor David Cook. I wish them both luck in their future careers in music but I wish a little extra luck on our Utah native, humble, sweet, adorable David A!

Sorry my life is so boring right now that I am posting about American Idol and not my "real" life.

4D Mania!

We have decided that Lola is the most beautiful baby ever! {Isn't that what every parent thinks?} We had our 4D ultrasound yesterday and it was so fun to spy on her squirming around comfortably in my womb. They checked her organs and brain and size and everything looks great. We have a healthy babe on our hands {thankfully} Chris told the technician that she looks like him haha I said she looks more like me... I guess we will have to see. HOW EXCITING!!! So here is our baby's first "face" debut! Proof that there is a REAL baby in there.... WOW!
{These are pics of the prints that I took with my phone so pardon the poor quality}
She kept putting her little hand in her forehead

Here is a front-facing face shot

and another with her cute little fingers up by her face, cute! (sorry there's a glare on this one)

Me at 23 weeks on Mother's Day in the cute outfit my parents gave me for my first Mothers Day :)
And the latest graphic from baby center email... I am not so much a klutz but I am scatterbrained more often now a days!

Tageroo

My friend Jennie tagged me a while ago and here I am FINALLY getting around to doing it :)

What is his name? Christopher Michael Perry

How long have you been together? 2 1/2 years

How long did you date? a year and 3 months

Who eats more? I might sometimes right now, in my "condition". But we are pretty even.

Who said 'I Love You' first? He did... and I think I said thank you... and a few days later or so, I said it back.... I am rude!

Who is taller? Chris, he almost has a foot on me :)

Who is smarter? we are both the most smartest! But in different ways and in different subjects. If we are dealing with a sales person or math, me. Sports or quick and smart rhetoric, Chris. (amongst other things)

Who does the laundry? Mostly me, but Chris helps out too.

Who does the dishes? We take turns.

Who sleeps on the right? me

Who pays the bills? We both do

Who mows the lawn? The nice Hispanic men that the HOA pays to do it ;)

Who cooks dinner? We both do, mostly me though. Lately mostly take-out or Chris's dad...

Who drives when you are together? It depends on who's car we are in.

Who is more stubborn? We both are... that is why if we start to argue, Chris turns it into a joke and we laugh! He is awesome!

Who kissed who first? He kissed me.

Who asked who out first? He asked me. But I initiated the first contact (via email) which then lead to him asking me on a date. Ya I am one of "those" girls.

Who proposed? He did...

Who has more siblings? Me, he had ZERO. That's right, only child.

Who wears the pants? Me...but we trade off at times.

If you have a significant other and would like to complete this, please feel free!

Mothers Day- ode to my mom

I decided I want to do a tribute to my Mom for this Mothers Day. I totally slacked on doing her and my dad's birthday tributes, so they get Mothers Day and Fathers Day tributes. Because they deserve them!
Here are some reasons why I LOVE MY MOM!!!
* She is the most organized person I know.
* She is such a good example of hard work.
* She makes the face below in some of her pictures, which I have lovingly named the "muppet face"

* Her any my dad are the cutest couple ever!

* She helps him run the family business and does all the financial part of it and more...

* She is a great example of being financially responsible. She taught me well and I think most of it stuck ;)

* She is ALWAYS there when I need a shoulder to cry on or some advice. {even when I am crying about something like stretch marks, being pregnant is hard...}

* She understands my concerns and always gives words of wisdom and love.

* She loves her girls. She loves all of her kids but now that Nicole and I are both gone, she loves the time she gets with her girls ;)

* She always makes her kids feel special and supports us in whatever endeavors we may pursue. Even when I played the clarinet for 2 years and then quit because it wasn't "cool" anymore.
* She has always been great at telling me she loves me and writing me cute letters to tell me how proud she is of me, etc
* She makes holidays fun and does cute stuff for us kids. Not to mention, she is one heck of a hostess and volunteers her house for our HUGE family get togethers. {she is one of 10 , yes 10 kids!}

* She loves Chris and her and the family have embraced him with loving arms.
*She is a great cook! I love that when I eat at her house, I am going to get a good healthy meal that I won't feel guilty about eating ;)
* But most importantly she helped raise this crazy bunch of people below. She will be silly with us and we are silly A LOT!!!
She is so amazing, sweet, loving, on-the-ball, generous, fun, and giving!!! Her and my dad have helped Chris and I out in so many ways. Not to mention that her and my dad got me the cutest maternity outfit for mothers day. They are so awesome!
I LOVE YOU MOM!!!!

Babies & Bikes

This Saturday Chris and I participated in the March of Dimes- Walk for Babies. Our work was one of the sponsors for the event and sponsored all of us that walked. It was so great to not only get out and exercise, but to feel like we were taking place in doing something to help a good cause. Some of the families with preemie babies were there and they had little posters telling the stories of their babies and were walking for their children and others. It was only 3 miles and they had breakfast and waters for us. It was such a fun thing to participate in. I wanted to share a video with all of you that tells you a little bit about the March of Dimes and the walk. On the official website it says that Premature birth touches over 1,000,000 babies and families a year. The research and education they provide helps to keep those babies alive so they can live full lives.

Here are some pictures from the walk. They did the Weber/Davis County walk at Layton Park, it was great weather and that park is beautiful!

{some of the girls we walked with}

{Chris in the shirt that our work gave us to wear}

In other news:

I pulled out my bike on Tuesday and rode it to Young Women's!! That's right, my chubby pregnant body riding my bike down state street in Clearfield haha It was so fun! I love my cute bike!
This is my bike {Electra Coaster} and I admit, it is one of my most prized possessions. But I have added upgrades to mine a.k.a. a basket and bell :)

Cinco De Mayo

Yes, we had a ladies Cinco de Mayo party. Hosted by the lovely Jeanette at her new, adorable house. It was a great time!!! Here are the highlights:
The decorations

The loverly Food and Pina Coladas

Taking crazy pictures, as usual!

The piniata! (and the "twins" underneath it)

The fact that after Jeanette hit the piniata down(first person to swing), so we proceeded to take swings at it like a softball game.

But most of all, the company! I love you ladies! {L to R: McCall, J Nut, me, Kim, B'Rit, M'Liss, Nat, Sarah, and Sindee}

My song of the day

When this song, Paper Airplanes, first came out last year, I liked it alright. But it has slowly grown on me and I love it now!!! I have been craving listening to it for the past few days, so today I have been listening to it tons! I love M.I.A. and I totally think Lady Sovereign ripped M.I.A. off {my personal opinion} so I am glad that she is FINALLY getting a little more recognition. Here is a little ditty for you from her newer CD "KALA". Her old CD "Arular" is awesome too and really upbeat! Listen and enjoy, if you are like me, you are probably dancing in your office chair as you watch this video! Thank goodness that I have my own office ;)

-Paper Airplanes- {the gunshots have caused a little controversy, but I love 'em}

Have a great Friday! {and come to Kilby court to watch the New Nervous if you don't have plans for tonight....}

Tagged, once again...

My friend Kacee tagged me to tell 6 random things about myself, so here it goes:

  1. I am a multi-tasker, I can rarely focus on doing just one thing at a time. I think it was all the retail I did in my early college years. Being a store manager can make you feel like you are running around on speed... Now when I see retail managers, I am so thankful that I don't look like a crazy, doped-up, overly-enthusiastic, fake, boss-kind-of-person.

  2. This may be gross to some of you haters out there BUT... I am a nose-picker. Not in public or in inappropriate places, but sometimes there are little boogies that can NOT be blown out and must be picked. If you claim you are not a nose-picker, you are a LIAR. I am calling you out publicly. NOSE PICKERS UNITE! {This one is inspired by another person's blog I read, where a whole post was dedicated to nose-picking....}

  3. I love TV!! Chris hates it and therefore, it is good he has homework to do at night and likes to watch stupid/funny things on Youtube. Here is a small sampling of what my DVR, weekly, records and stores so lovingly for me. Then I can watch them commercial free at my leisure.
  • Sun- Desperate Housewives.
  • Mon- The Bachelor: London Calling, Little People, Big World, Jon and Kate Plus 8, The Hills.
  • Tue- I am drawing a blank, there is something.... The Real Housewives of NYC (whenever that is)
  • Wed- America's Next Top Model, The Real World... whenever that is on...

  • Thurs- My Name is Earl, The Office, Grey's Anatomy.
  • Fri- Free Radio, I need to start recording the Ghost Whisperer.
4. I love to spoil my dog, Cooper aka Rooper aka Rupert. He basically thinks he is a human and wants to eat our food and sleep on our bed {which I don't let him do... at night} I talk to him like he is a baby. He follows me around everywhere and "helps" me: make dinner, do the laundry and the dishes, go to the redbox at Macey's, go to get take-out food and look out the window at the nice fast-food workers. {he even got FREE fiesta potatoes from the nice lady at Taco Bell once!}
5. I am pretty much obsessed with being pregnant, talking about being pregnant, seeing other pregnant ladies and reading all about it on babycenter.com. I even have a cafemom.com account and am meeting other fun mommies and learning a lot from reading other people's experiences. I am one of those people that LOVES being pregnant I guess. That may change if my next pregnancy is harder than this one ;)
6. I have to be ready for the day before I leave the house. My mom raised me to always look nice before you go places. To take some pride in myself, I suppose. I must admit, that on very rare occasions I will run to the grocery store or to pick up breakfast at Sill's in a less-than-desirable state. But mostly I am hair done and make-up done, before I leave the house. Even on Saturdays and days that I accidentally sleep in. Otherwise I feel ugly and lazy all day! Ok, I have been brainwashed. But it is a good philosophy... i recon (sp?).

I tag B-Rit, Snigga, Amanda Alvey, Rachelle, Raquel, and anyone else who wants to :)
