This was a fun tag...

20 YEARS AGO- I was 4 years old and I assume, playing with toys and "helping" my mom with baby Nicole. ha ha Probably going to Starbright pre-school too, it was next door at the Sloan's house. :)

10 YEARS AGO- 14 years old UGH, I didn't like this year much. I had been "dumped" by all my friends the summer before this school year, for being a nice, good girl and they were crazy "rebels" {mind you a few of them got knocked up in or around the high school years, whew missed that one luckily!} So I was BFFers with the school snot, Cassie Lybbert, but she befriended me and we did have some fun times before we parted ways. {just a little side note, she got preggo as well in high school...?}

5 YEARS AGO- I was living at home going to UVSC and I believe working at good ole American Eagle. I was getting ready to move out, for good this time, to Old Mill. I was dating around and playing with my friends.

3 YEARS AGO- I believe I was still living in New Port Condos with Stephanie and Trisha. I was working at Zumiez in University mall as an Asst Manager and not making as much money as I should have been! I was busy playing with friends and going to dance parties and probably hanging out with Kwin a lot. I think I was still going to UVSC at this point.

1 YEAR AGO- I would have been married about a month and was loving life except for the fact that we had backed out of a bad deal on a house so we were living in Chris' parents basement for a small bout. They were awesome though and fed us and it was free so that was nice!!! Life was simple :)

SO FAR THIS YEAR- Well we found out we were pregnant a couple days before New Years Eve. So I have been being ill on and off with morning sickness, working at Associated Food Stores. Chris has started back up at Weber State University. Rhett left on his mission and that is about it for me.

YESTERDAY- I came to work, went to lunch at the Pie with my friend Jess, went to my baby Dr appt and got an ultrasound, went back to work. Chris and I went to dinner with his parents {thanks Mike and Betsy!} I did some dishes, did the laundry, hung some family portraits, watched American Idol, Rob and Big, and LA Ink. Folded laundry and went to bed!

TODAY- Threw up {sorry}, stopped at Maverick to get some food so I wouldn't throw up on the way to work. Worked and am currently working... But later tonight we are going to get my mom a birthday present and go to watch the New Nervous play, YAY!

TOMORROW- Go down to Payson to hang out with the family and play with doggies. Probably will go to dinner for mom's b day. BE LAZY!

I tag anyone who looks at this and wants to reminisce about their older years, etc.

Baby and the Idol

Yesterday we had another Dr.'s appt. It went great and the Doc said baby is growing and is healthy and strong. It was awesome to see the ultrasound this time because it actually looked like a baby! But my mom says we should still call it bean because that is cute ha ha We tried to see if we could tell the sex but the baby was not in the best position and it was too shady in the "criotchal region" ;) So he said he will tell us next time for sure!! A little less than a month and we will know what to start calling the bean. It was so fun to see the baby moving around and the little arms moving up by its head and to see the little fingers!!! I LOVE going to the Dr.'s now just to see my baby and know that "shim" is in there. {shim= she/him, since we don't know yet!} Here is a pic for you all to see, there is a little glare on it but it actually looks like a baby. Head on the right and legs on the left. I bet this little one will have long legs like daddy. At least I hope they won't get my short legs ha ha Yay for Maximus or Lola!!!!

Next I just had to write about my favorite little man for the moment. My mother in law loves American Idol and always asks me if I saw the last one, I catch it every now and then but this season I decided I am going to watch because of this awesome kid from Utah. That is right our very own little David Archuleta! He is great, this kid has a set of lungs on him. The thing I love most about him is that he has singing ability naturally, at least it sounds like it. His voice or appearance isn't forced or contrived. He is pure and sweet and humble. This kid deserves to win. If you haven't seen him sing yet, watch this video and hear the judges responses. They love this guy and I predict he will be the next American Idol! GO DAVID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have a great weekend and if you don't have plans come and see The New Nervous play tonight at Kilby Court in SLC at 7pm!

What a great weekend!

To start it out my sis came up and we had a sisters night! Fun things about our night:
  • Eating lots of Cafe Rio!!! {Pork Burritos on this rotation}
  • Finding out that there is a store in the Layton Hills Mall called Skins that sells designer jeans!!! We also got $20 off coupons from them since they are still brand new! Nicole used hers immediately. I on the other hand, sadly suggested that they carry maternity designer jeans and decided after the kid, if I get skinnier than pre-preg {which I am PLANNING on doing} I will need a pair that fits me! Good motivation and they said the coupon NEVER expires!
  • Having the crazy kid working temporarily in the fabric section of Walmart tell us that the patches we were looking for were, "probably in these 2 or 3 aisles here, I don't work here usually. I am just working here tonight". Thanks crazy cat-scratched arm kid, who knows nothing about where anything is. We laughed about him for the rest of our Walmart trip!
  • Yummy Jambas that were free thanks to the Gift Card I won at work!
  • Watching awesome videos on Youtube and Facebook stalking people.

Sister nights are awesome and I had a great time! Thanks for coming up Nic!

Saturday and Sunday Chris, Nicole, and I went up to my friend Jed's cabin in Bear Lake. A good time is always had! The cabin is so nice, it almost doesn't feel right calling it a cabin. Highlights from the cabin:

  • A bunch of good friends
  • a hot tub {which sadly I couldn't soak in because of my pregnant state}
  • a ping-pong table, trash talk included
  • lots of ipod DJing
  • mini dance parties
  • eating food at the local joints and having the locals glare at you.
  • Everyone else staying up way too late {I was asleep before midnight and awoke for a brief appearance, then hit the hay for real}
  • Eating way too much junk food
  • Driving home in a blizzard and making it home safely
  • To top it off when we got home and went to pick Cooper up from the in-laws and hang out, Chris' dad had made the YUMMIEST boneless ribs and potatoes and corn on the cob. YUMMERS!!!!!

Pictures to follow!! HAPPY MONDAY :) Here's to another week. Oh and yesterday I hit my 12 week mark!

The life of a domestic goddess~

ha ha I wish!!! But I must say last night I felt like one. I was doing really good at cooking there for a while when I first got pregnant but then that all went to pot! I would get home from work, be a ravenous pig and couldn't wait even 15 minutes to prepare food and then eat, hence we have eaten out a lot lately. Well last week we went grocery shopping and I had planned out what I wanted to make and had some great new recipes to try from this site that my friend Angie told me about {thanks Ang} Sunday I decided I was going to start a new and cook this week like a good little housewife "should". Last night I decided to make mexican food! Part a recipe from my mom for some awesome mexican meat and beans for taco salads and the other other part this Chili Con Queso- Revved Up from the website mentioned above. Man was it fun and I felt so great about myself that I even cleaned the kitchen and did some laundry to boot! Here are pictures of my adventure!

{Queso mid preparation}

{Queso complete... mmmm}

{yummy meat and beans}

{Cooper begging me to "throw him a bone" aka drop some food on the floor for him. Especially the olives I was cutting up!}

{the finished product, gluten-free salsa and everything!}

I almost forgot. On Sunday night Chris and I used the breadmaker we got for Christmas from his parents and made some delicious gluten-free bread! I was so excited when it turned out yummy and Chris was dancing around because he was so happy to be able to eat yummy bread again!

So this week has started out great, we will see how the rest of the nights go. Lastly, I have this really cute picture that I got on my pregnancy email last week {I think...} it applies perfectly. Last night after I finished cooking, I hardly ate any of it because my stomach was not having it... the joys of being pregnant ha ha

P.S. My 100th post was a couple ago... hip hip hooray!

Salt n Pepa and the family

This last Saturday Chris and I went down to Payson to visit the fam. It was great. It included watching funny videos on Youtube, lots of snacking, watching the Ugliest Dog Contest on TV or the Slam Dunk Contest for the boys, eating at Los Amigos, and of course this following video.....

Salt n Pepa- PUSH IT

Don't act like you don't love it! It all started with my mom wanting to watch Apollo and Julianne do their "raunchy" dance to this song on Dancing with the Stars. You also know you all loved that dance too!!! It was so much fun! So we watched that and my mom said she liked the song they danced to. I said. "You know who sings that and how old it is right?" But she didn't know so I proceeded to pull up this video and we were laughing so hard and loving it. So then we wanted to watch "Shoop" also. I started Shoop and began reciting every word and the next thing you know Nicole was coming in singing every word as well. My mom was so confused at how she had heard Shoop and some of their other songs but not Push it. ha ha So we listened to Push It again and had a grand time.

Then I told my mom about Salt n Pepa's reality show on VH1. I LOVE that show. It is so cute and fun! If you haven't watched it, you should check it out. I admit it, I like some and I mean SOME reality shows. I am picky but some of them are so addicting! Here is a little preview for ya'll. It is now the second season and they are friends again and they have some funny adventures!

Valentines Day!!! <3

To start this out I wanted to show you all what Jeanette and I did last night! We had a girls night, ate food, watched our fav TV show, and made Valentine Cards! (great idea Nutter!) It was a blast. We wanted them to be so cute and thougtful and we were STRUGGLING. We didn't like how some of our ideas turned out and it was pretty funny. We both decided we are not the most crafty ladies ever. But it is the thought that counts and I actually think they ended up looking way cute! So here we are with our cards for our men :)
{Jeanette added a cute picture of them to hers. It looks great!}

I thought I would say a few things about my wonderful husband.

  • He is the sweetest guy I have ever met. He is always concerned about me before him.
  • He is the funniest guy I know. He will break out into a freestyle rap at random moments and will always bust out a funny dance that makes me roll on the floor in laughter.
  • He is quick on his feet. He can always come back with a smart A remark and make you laugh.
  • He is the nicest to everyone. He is always so stinkin nice to people we talk to when we go out or the person ringing us up or the person at the drive up window. {At least they won't spit in our food... hopefully}
  • He is very very excited to be a daddy and likes to look at baby stuff at the store with me too. He will be such a great dad!
  • He is nice to me first thing in the morning even though he probably doesn't want to be. I am one of those annoying morning people and am happy and ready to go first thing. (usually) He is sweet to me back.
  • He is a hard worker and is always impressing his bosses at work. He is a lead for the part time people his shift and keeps them pumped and doing a good job.

I love Chris so much and am happy that I found a great man like him to marry and have children with. He makes me so happy and makes me laugh all the time. We have such a great time together and I anticipate so much more in our future. Thanks for being the best honey! I love you dee doo :)

I've been tagged

So M'Liss tagged me to do the 6 things about me or that I like or something like that. I did this a while back but I will do it again and think of new things :)

  1. I love Doris day movies and a lot of old movies in general. But Doris Day is my favorite. She is so adorable and sometimes I wish I could be a cute little housewife like that and wear the cute clothes and be a delicate flower. But alas, I am me and I belch sometimes and I am lazy sometimes and luckily Chris doesn't expect me to be his "slave" ha ha Also Nat and Netti have started calling me Daris Day and I LOVE it!!
  2. I am a family gal. I love being with my family!! I love it when we can spend the whole weekend at my parents house and be lazy and play and eat and enjoy each others company. Chris and I hang out with his parents quite a bit too and they are a blast as well. If we go to dinner we almost always call his parents and invite them along for the ride. We have awesome parents and I have great bros and a fabulous sis.
  3. I love to make Chris breakfast in bed and do it almost every Saturday morning unless we are at my parents or something. I think it is the only way to get him to wake up on Saturdays... maybe thats why I do it. I get bored hanging out by myself in the morning ha ha But if I don't make breakfast I love to eat Sill's or Doug and Emmy's boss breakfast to go!!! Nothing like a little artery clogging breakfast every now and then!
  4. I love Taco Bell. I think most of you know this already. I crave it on an every other day basis, almost. Luckily Chris has caught on and craves it now as well. Plus it is so much easier than making dinner ;)
  5. I have almost died 3 times. A lot of you have already heard the stories but here are clues to how, if you haven't heard. 1- almost drowned when I was a wee one. {Thanks uncle Sheldon for saving me!} 2- I had a brief Leukemia scare when I was 2. 3- I almost got ran over by a man that blacked out while driving. So needless to say, I am here for a reason and I try to live my life so I am worthy or all these chances I have been given :)
  6. I have a soft spot for doggies. I have grown an intense love for dogs. Not all dogs but a lot of them. When those dang Humane Society and pet adoption commercials come on, I cry almost everytime when I see the sad doggies. I wish I could save all the doggies that are put to sleep. EVERYONE, IF YOU WANT A DOG, GO ADOPT ONE. My aunt and Uncle did and he is the sweetest ever! Also I watched the movie "The Year of the Dog" on my moms recommendation, she warned me that it was sad but gees. I was hit by a semi at full speed. I bawled the entire movie and a half hour or so afterward!!!!!!!!! I am not exaggerating. I sat on my bed hugging and rocking Cooper praying that he would NEVER die. Oh dear!

So there is a little about me. I tag anyone who reads this and would like to do their own. I love learning a little more about you guys!

Perry Family Portraits '08

We are lucky to have a close friend, Ian, that is majoring in photography and likes to use us/mostly my hubby for fun photo shoots. We told him that we wanted some fun, family photos before the baby comes and before I get too fat! He said great, I have some ideas and can use them for class as well. So that is how this photo shoot came about. {Mind you I felt like crap and didn't really get ready before the shoot but I don't think people will be paying attention to that anyway....} I love these. They turned out great! We even got Coopie in them. We have decided that we always need to do fun family photos to keep up the tradition. Chris feels very strongly against the normal photos that most people take for families. Here's to a new family tradition, ENJOY!

Click on the pictures to make them big and excuse my garments hanging out in the second one haha He took more but this was all he sent us so far, hopefully there will be more to come. :)

Beautiful Music soothes the soul

I have already done a post on the Editors but these guys are one of my favorite bands. They make beautiful music and it always takes me to another place when I listen to it. Some days I feel like I will go crazy at work, but if I put on certain music, it takes me to another place and I actually rnjoy my day :) I tried to get a couple of their new music videos but those sly devils have not put any embedding codes on youtube, etc. So here is an old favorite.

-Chad, I think I have shown you these guys before, if not listen to both albums "The Back Room" and "An End Has a Start". You will love both of them. I think all of you would :)

Editors- Munich

One more song. The new Radiohead album is amazing, if you don't have it you need to! They released it independently and for the first few months it was out, they didn't put it in stores or on Itunes. you could go to their website and download it for a donation... meaning you could pay as much as you wanted or download it for free. They love their fans and they are in it for the love of music. It now is out for purchase in normal stores and this is the first album they have put on itunes so go buy it!

Radiohead- All I Need {fast forward to 2:20 for the music to start}

Rhett's big day at the MTC

{on the way to the MTC}
Sadly, I was not able to attend the MTC with my cute little bro. We had a rough week the week before with having to miss work for being ill and a family emergency in Chris' family. So I couldn't afford to take the day off and spend the gas to go to Provo and back. I just called Rhett the night before and told him how much I loved him and then proceeded to BAWL all night long. I couldn't stop. I thought I had mellowed a bit but then I started to say Chris and I's bedtime prayer and started up again. I felt like a fool, but Chris was sweet and I blamed some of it on my pregnant hormones {good excuse huh?} I finally cried myself to sleep. But I really was so excited for him and am very proud of the young man he has grown into and the great decisions he has made thus far in his life. :) {eating breakfast}

My parents were out of town as well when he went into the MTC so Nicole, RoLee, and Ryker got to take him. My parents were on the trip I mentioned below, so they didn't have any control over when they were going. But all went well at the MTC and here are some photos.

{what a cute missionary!}

{My cute siblings}

{the boys, don't mind RoLee's face, he didn't feel well and Nicole said he acted pretty oblivious to the fact that Rhett was leaving.... he is an odd duck}

Thank heavens for dearelder.com, it makes it so easy to write my cute bro, since after I get home from work my brain shuts off and I sleep a lot of the night away ha ha

My parents vacation

I don't have all the details but I do know they had a great time and sent me a couple of cute pictures from my Uncle's blackberry. They went with my dad's side of the family for my grandma's 80th birthday!!! They went on a cruise to the Carribean and got to stop in all sorts of fun places. It was all the aunts and uncles that went and sometimes I wish I was invited because they go to the most fun places :)

So here are a couple of pictures of my cute parents. The pic said they were in Tulum.

Here is the best part! They brought me back a moomoo!! My sister modelled it and sent me a pic on my phone yesterday ha ha Let me tell you what! I told Chris and he was teasing me and saying I could never wear it around the house and I said, well you better get used to it because when I am old, all I am wearing is moomoo's! ha Ok maybe not but I will love sporting this thing around and I will love it forever after my mom told me about the sweet Mexican people that hand stitched it down there :) That is some nice work!

First girls night of '08

This last Friday, the girls and I got together and had a great night! We met and ate at PF Chang's. I love that place. Sadly, my body has decided that it despises my favorite hot and sour soup that they serve there. It handled it with just small stomach pains Friday night but Saturday night I tried to heat up my left over soup... BAD IDEA. It sounded good to me, but my body thought otherwise and before I was halfway through, yep it came back up. {TMI, I know, but I am getting used to this awful pregnancy illness and I need someone to feel bad for me ha ha jk} Anywhooo, after dinner we went to the Gateway and looked around and oddly enough I didn't buy anything! Good job me!! It may have been because I know I won't fit into anything in a couple months so whats the use??

After that all the girls headed home except for Ali and I. We continued the night by seeing a movie at the Broadway. It was great! We all had such a fun night and I am sad to say that out of the 3 or more cameras that were present we were only able to take one photo the whole night, last minute, by a man that did not seem happy that I asked him to take it!! Ha ha He said yes to taking it so I didn't feel bad one bit!
