Free Hugs

I had to copy Chad and put this on my page for people that don't see his. This is the sweetest and best idea ever. I think we could all use more hugs in our lives and this video is a cute one. Also if you want to see the website and see how this all started, click HERE.

A small wedding recap...

I realized some of you may not have seen very many if any of my wedding pics so for now here are a couple of slide shows you can check out to see some of them!

This is of our wedding, it is one our photographer put up on his website. He made it and picked the music, OBVIOUSLY ha ha These were all taken by Portraits By Steven.

This one is of my second set of bridals. Yes, my second. My first set was taken by my aunt Heather, they are beautiful and I love them. The reason I got two sets was because a sweet girl (and now friend of mine) Anna Wheeler contacted me on myspace of all places and saw I was getting married and asked if I would model for some bridals for her and she would do it for free and give me the CD with the pictures to keep. I told her I was already getting some but she said that's ok, now you will have more! I love these and she is amazing!! She did my friend Brittney's entire wedding after meeting me and is going to be doing my cousin Cassie's as well. They are actually doing her bridals tonight!! So these were done by Anna Page Photography. Be sure to check out her blog, she does amazing work! These are some of my 2nd Bridals :)
Here are a few engagements and first bridals as well :) I can't believe we have almost been married a year now!

Blogs are Fantastic!

So today my good friend Angie, whom I have grown up with since elementary school (I believe), found my blog! Thus leading me to hers, leading me to Marilee's (another neighbor friend) and so on and so forth. I love blogs! I love being able to catch up on people's lives- hearing their stories, happiness, sadness, seeing pictures and feeling like I still know about these people that I love and have great memories with. She was married in September and I am so happy for her! :) While reading her blog, she had a post with 6 things about her and she tagged anyone who read it to do the same. So here you go:

1. I have a routine, I am sure almost everyone does. For getting ready, doing my daily jobs at work, for shutting down my computer and packing up for the day, etc. But it is a little ridiculous at times. For example: this morning I was getting ready and I noticed that the cord on my blow-dryer was not wound up the way I normally wind it... this was very confusing to me. Had Chris taken up blowing his ever so short hair dry? Did someone come over and use it while I was at work. Did I do it like that the last time I used it. I proceeded to blow dry and then paid attention to how I wound it back up... I definitely didn't do that. So I asked Chris if he had used it and admitted how crazy and weird I am for noticing in the first place. Yes he used it to dry a spot on his shorts that he had gotten wet to clean. ha ha

2. I am a people pleaser. I always want the people around me i.e. family friends to feel comfortable and happy. ( If I have ever done anything on the contrary, I apologize) I feel like I consider so many people my GOOD friends. I am one of those people that had a hard time learning that I can't be everyone's BFF, even though I would love to be. But I now realize that even people that I don't see tons or consider my BFF's mean just as much to me as the BFF's do. So I now know that I can still mean a lot to people and not be their BFF and I am ok with that! :)

3. I am getting more emotional the older I get. Not scary, crazy-girl emotion and I get mad all the time. The good kind. When I get cute vidoes in my email that have been forwarded to me, I cry. When I watch a cute commercial, I cry. When I watch a sweet movie or see cute babies and their parents interact, I cry!!!

4. I am baby hungry!! I definitely second Angie's sentiment on that. I see the cute pics of babies on everyone's blogs and I want one of my own ha ha

5. I love TV. Chris hates it and doesn't know why I would want to waste my time watching it. I have at least 5 shows set for my DVR to record each week and I watch them when I have free time... at least I don't create my schedule around them! They entertain me and help me relax and slow my brain down in the evenings.

6. I love a clean house. I can't stand to sit in my house and watch TV or play Guitar Hero (yes, it's the only video game I play and I heart it immensly) if my house isn't clean. It is a never ending cycle, but there is nothing that pleases me more than having a clean house. By clean I mean: floor boards wiped, floors mopped, all rooms dusted and vaccumed, surfaces cleared of clutter, mirrors washed, laundry completed or in the process, each room smelling good, and the dishes done. If it isn't clean, I feel like a pig or am paranoid that someone will drop by in my midst of uncleanliness.

This is fun, so I tag my friends that haven't done this yet to do it aka Jeanette, B-Rit, Chad, Mad.. everyone!

Thanksgiving weekend

I was lucky enough to get work off on Friday and have a complete Thanksgiving weekend. I was so excited!! On Wednesday night Chris and I went to Jason's Deli and ate a yummy din din then did some grocery shopping for his Gluten-Free diet. After that we hung out with John and Tami briefly but then Chris' tummy started acting up (there must have been hidden gluten's in his dang Jason's Deli food :( ) So we cut the night short and hung out at home.

Thursday we slept in and later went to a movie with Chris' parents :) Then it was time to head over to Kim and Steve's house for dinner. Steve is a great cook and made two turkeys (one in the oven and the other deep fried) the deep fried was my favorite, soo tasty! Great stuffing, green salad, rolls and a relish tray. I ate two full plates... WOW! Then the rest of their family (and our friends) came over and ate dessert and looked through the adds for good deals. They get up way way early and go out... no thank you. I headed down to my parents with Cooper, Chris had to work 10p to 6am so he would join us later. We stopped at grandma's and got to see the family for a few and eat a quick piece of pie :) That is one thing I missed about not going with my family this year. I believe I played a lot of Guitar Hero 3 for the rest of the night!!! I love it, there are a lot of good songs on the new game like, Fall of Troy, Block Party, The Kaiser Chiefs, Gallows, and many more!!

Friday I slept in again and then my mom, Nicole, and I headed to meet up with my Grandma B at BYU Bookstore (boo) I hate going there but it is tradition and we help grandma pick out books for the grand kids. After that we went to lunch at Brick Oven and I got the Market Room Buffet and ate to my hearts desire, I figure I already ate like a fat girl on Thursday, I might as well finish off the weekend ha ha Grandma was done after that point, so we headed to the mall. Next was Best Buy and Circuit City. The one thing I really wanted was a great deal on an X box 360 package, it is all Chris wants and he keeps reminding me of that and he even taped the ad for it to the bathroom mirror so I wouldn't forget. ( I laughed soo hard when I saw it up there tee hee)
Well everyone was out of them... so I didn't end up spending almost any money, that is the only good thing about it :) That night the family was lazy and relaxed and Mom and I caught up on the Grey's Anatomy we had missed Thursday.

Saturday Chris finally made it down to my parents and we all watched the GREAT BYU GAME. He was rooting for the Utes and trash talking my brothers but in the end the better team triumphed!!!!!!!! GO BYU!!!! I like both schools but BYU runs in my blood since that is where my family has all gone to school and my 2 aunts and grandpa are professors there... After that Chris headed up to meet his dad for dinner and the TOOL concert. So I met up with Ali and Molly and ate dinner at Smokehouse, it was tasty. Later that night Ali and I met up with Chris, Scott, and Lauren, chatted and then watched "Hot Rod", it was so hilarious. Some of our favorite lines were, pardon the language... "Somebodies dick hole is gonna get smashed", "I have been drinking green tea all day long..." then he proceeds to open a can on some guy ha ha there are many more but I can't think of all of them at this moment.

Sunday- We had a yummy family dinner and some great naps and then mom gave me a bunch of her Christmas decor that she didn't want (some of them were pretty cute) and then it was back to Clearfield for our little family aka Chris, Cooper and I. When we got home I couldn't wait to put some decorations up, so I got started and remembered that I had my nativity that my mom had given me 2 years ago. I have never set it up because I never had a home of my own until now!! I am sooo excited, it looks great and its the really cute Willow Tree one too.

This weekend was great! I loved being with my loved ones and friends. I am so grateful for all of my blessings and for my fabulous, loving, funny, sweet, husband, for our beautiful little home and our sweet doggie. I do have a lot to be thankful for and try to recognize that daily :)

My cute family

Chris and I have been lucky enough to see my family both nights this week so far. On Monday night we had a pre-Thanksgiving Feast and went to my Grandpa's class room at BYU and sat at the long lab tables and ate yummy food. He also just got a new lab finished, so we got to see that and he was very excited to say that numerous people have told him it is the nicest room on campus. He let us go and look in his office as well. This may not sound entertaining to an unknowing by-stander, but what needs to be understood is that my Grandpa is a well-known Marine-Biologist (among the scholarly Marine types) I have been told he is one of the only if not the only one in the intermountain West. He teaches Biology and Marine Biology at BYU and has since the 60's. This equals he has a great collection of sea creatures and sea life collected from going on sabatical every year to research marine life and take samples and has also been taking a group of students out with him every year for the last I am not sure how many years. They go for 6 weeks every summer. His amazing specimens and samples and sea creatures are displayed in his class room, lab, and office. It is awesome to see all of these displayed and see how many he has. He also is an antique collector and everything in his office is antique, it is BEAUTIFUL.

My grandpa is a sweet, loving, jolly, intelligent, refined, and distinguished man who has a great sense of humor. Which leads us to the next part of the night, he wanted everyone to dress up as pilgrims or indians for our feast. It was great! Everyone looked so cute and Grandpa proceeded to make up and sing an Indian Feast Chant (so cute) That is one thing I love about him. He loves the funny, cheesy things that bring families together. He loves showing slides of us when we were younger and reading us stories and writing stories to read to us. I am very grateful to have such a wonderful family on both sides and Chris' too now, that love us so much!

Here is Nicole with our silly Grandpa

Ava and Chase

My family :)

My "real" family. Notice RoLee not doing anything... that is the funniest part to me HA HA HA

Last night we met up with just these folks above plus Rhett's girly friend Breanne and went to Mimi's Cafe for lil Ryk's birthday. He is the cute little guy in the red, he is 11 now, our baby is getting so big! Afterward we all went to the mall so Ryker could pick out a birthday outfit. He went straight to Zumiez and found exactly what he wanted. That's my lil bro!! He looked very handsome! Chris and I got him the new FOO FIGHTERS CD and he was stoked (yes we are instilling good music into his life at an early age and I must say he is catching on well and is actually well-versed in his knowledge of music and movies for that matter) I love Ryker becuase of the following ELEVEN items for his ELEVENTH BIRTHDAY:

  1. He is energetic to the max.
  2. He can carry on a conversation with anyone.
  3. He has a strong lil guy testimony of the gospel and will tattle on anyone who is watching a rated R movie or doing anything questionable (can be annoying at times...)
  4. He loves music!
  5. He always has a hug and an I love you for me.
  6. He texts me from my mom's phone and makes sure to say "Oh and this is Ryker if you were wondering". ;)
  7. He will sit on the internet for hours and research new music and movies. He loves Itunes and IMDB, he will know the Producer and Director or most movies you quiz him with.
  8. He is smart and does well in school.
  9. He is whitty and can make people laugh with his humor.
  10. He is the baby of the family and is spoiled to death.
  11. He is a future director and makes homemade videos starring his big bro RoLee and the Robison's (the neighbors). He likes making action movies and loves using humor in them as well. He is getting better at switching camera angles during a scene even though he is filming with only one camera.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RYKER, I LOVE YOU!!

Weekend -O- Fun

This weekend was a lot of fun!!! Friday I went to dinner at Happy Sumo with my good friend Ali! Then we had to check out the new Urban Outfitters at the Gateway, yay there is FINALLY one in Utah!!!! I got a cute beanie (in the pics below) but that was all the spending I was going to do there. I was proud of myself for only buying that ;)

Then we headed over to Barnes and Noble to look for a Gluten-Free cook book for my love. (We found out he has Celiacs, on Thursday, it's rocking his world a little. We are only going to buy Gluten-Free things to eat in our home.... it will be hard but at least he will be healthier and

Hey, maybe I'll lose some weight in the process!)
So we lingered at Barnes and Noble and then browsed around Dr. John's at the funny panties and such... Meanwhile, our men were at the Circa Survive concert together and having a blast.

Saturday was the day that Chad was coming to town!!

So I spent the day cleaning, cleaning, and more cleaning!
But it was awesome because I got soo much done. I even scrubbed the kitchen floor and organized and cleaned our guest bedroom, which until this point was basically an over-sized storage room. It was transformed into a comfy guest bedroom and had fresh sheets for my friend Chaddy.

Around 4:30 or so Chad arrived and I was so excited to see him. Him, Chris, and I went and ate at El Burrito in Clearfield, it was yummy, they even had a dish Chris could eat! After that we went back to the house and watched

one of the sweetest, heartwarming movies ever. It is a bunch of short films by different directors and they are all centered around

Paris.
After that we went to Pace's and got some yummy rainbow slushes, Chad had never had one and loved it so much that he got a little over-enthusiastic and drank the whole thing and got a BRAIN FREEZE ha ha

Next Chad and I (Chris had to go to bed because he worked at 6 in the AM) went to my friend Amanda's boyfriend's 80's style Birthday Party. We danced and took pictures and had a great time. This is Cheryl and i at the party! One sad thing that happened was that Amanda's NEW camera got stolen by some dumb girls, that they didn't know, that showed up at the party, so the rest of the pictures of all of us, leg-warmers and all, are GONE!

Cheryl and I

After that we headed home and reminisced to old music on the way. At home we got in our pj's and watched family guy and then hit the hay.

All in all it was a great weekend and I had so much fun with Chad and I miss him all the time. He is moving to Arizona soon and i am NOT HAPPY about that! But I know it will be good for him and that he will thrive down there and can become successful in his profession :) I love you Chadly!!!

New bedroom set :)

So we got a new bedroom set for a Christmas present from Chris and I to ourselves and from his parents and my parents- aka no presents under the tree anywhere for us ha ha. But that is ok because now Chris actually fits on our bed and if I roll over I don't bump into his face tee hee I love to sleep with my arm under my pillow and my arm was always in his way. We decided a cal king was definitely a great idea for us and my husbands giant heightness. The only problem is that the delivery dudes showed up without our dresser or night stand and then proceeded to tell us that they are on back-order until ???? So we called the customer service woman and she informed us that they will not be delivered until the 30th!!!!!! BOO to that, thanks a lot RC Willey for broadsiding us with that one. Anyway, here are some pics of my incomplete bedroom set ha ha (at least we have the bed to sleep on)

Our poor mirror, all by its lonesome. Don't mind our ghetto tv stand
or the VHS's stacked next to it ha ha

This is the missing night stand

and the missing dresser to go under the mirror

Sara and family

Dave, Sara, and Lily came to visit this weekend. We went and ate at our favorite Chinese place, the Mandarin Palace and then came back to our place to hang out. Lily is about 8 1/2 months and she was adorable!!! She loved Cooper, they said she had never seen a dog before. She immediately grabbed his face fur and held on for dear life. Cooper started to whine and we pulled her litlle hands free. But it taught Coop not to mess with here. Every time he would come by she would flail her arms around and he would bark, then she would laugh and laugh it was so cute.

She is such a cute and happy baby. We had a great time hanging out with these guys. Sorry about the bad lighting in the video. We were in my basement and it looks all reddish.

Small and Simple things...

I happened upon these videos today and watched them at work (ha ha) they brought a tear to my eye. Very sweet and heart warming. A little corny too, but mostly good :) I hope you could take a minute to watch them. If not all of them, at least the first. Sometimes we just need a reminder... I am glad that I could be an instrument in the Lord's hands to help bring Chris into the gospel.

Sigur Ros

I decided I dad to write a blog about Sigur Ros, because of their unequaled amazing-ness. I just went and bought the new CD Hvarf-Heim. It is a double CD, one with new and b-sides type songs and the other with accousticly re-molded songs. It is amazing! I don't know what it is about them but they seriously warm my soul and make me feel happy and peaceful. I am also very excited for their new fill length feature DVD. It was filmed over a two week period last summer while they were touring their homeland of Iceland, performing free shows in all sorts of nooks and crannies in Iceland. The preview takes my breath away and I am anxious to get it when it releases in the US on November 20th. Here is a link to the trailer for "Heima".
While we are on the subject I also wanted to say how great their live shows are. Everyone I have talked to that has seen them live can agree with me, and has agreed that it will leave you awe struck. It is a very moving and emotional experience. Close to spiritual.
As you all know, I am a lover of music to the Nth degree. It is a big part of my life and is a passion of mine and I am grateful for amazing musicians like Sigur Ros who are making beautiful, uplifting music that can be heard all over the world and bring joy to those who listen.

Halloween costumes!

Halloween was fun but low key. We went to our ward trunk or treat for a bit so I could see my young women and eat some chow to support the ward functions... ya know. Then we went to Chris' parents and ate some more. Yes, we are fat girls! I dressed up and I dressed Cooper up again as well. Chris was unprepared this year and therefore forfeited dressing up for the actual Halloween night. That is OK though, we decided next year we will go all out! So here are a couple pics of me and Coop :)

I figured I better get some good use out of this one since Disney charges a pretty penny for their costumes... Hence a repeat of last year.

He isn't cock-eyed in real life, promise ha ha

A happy update...

Blogs are back... don't ask me how, but I am back on and looking at all my great friends blogs!!! I told my friend here at work how saddened I was about losing my blogs, well she proceeded to call our friend who is one of the Info Systems guys and tell him it is BS that my blogs were blocked. SO I am not sure if that had anything to do with it or if it was a mess up on the part of the internet filter BUT REGARDLESS, I am so glad to have them back! Hooray! :)

Getting on with more important things.... I haven't been on here for a while because I was out of blog mode since I couldn't look at other people's. Here are some pics from Brit's Birthday dinner at the Gateway that Jeanette and I put together. We ate at Thaifoon and invited all our lady friends since a lot of us couldn't make it to Brit's official birthday bash on her actual day. I love these pics, they are so cute and fun!

Brit loves scrapbooking!

Me, M'Liss, and Brit look sexy and sorts

All the ladies, eating some good thai-asian food!
