The Simpsons movie

This was a fun weekend!! On Friday night Chris, Scott, Ali, and I went to PF Chang's and then joined up with Rachel, Dan , and their sweet new baby Lily and went to the Simpons movie. It was pretty dang funny. Chris says he wonders why they can't still make the shows this funny but then they do it on the movie? Don't worry babe, I think thats what we are all wondering :) These are me and Chris in Simpson form ha ha

They're not that close but its the thought that counts right??

On Saturday we went to lunch with my BFF Chad and my sis came as well. Chad's birthday was Monday so it was an early birthday lunch! We went to California Pizza Kitchen and it was great to catch up and hear all of Chad's crazy stories. He is such a sweetie. After that Chris and I (ok mostly me) went shopping and I showed him the perfume that I want for my birthday, but I told him it is a back up plan in case he hadn't already picked something out tee hee hee

Of course I couldn't leave Nordstrom without looking through the TBD section and seeing what cute new jeans they had!!! I told myself since my birthday is next week, that I could justify getting a pair of designer jeans! (I haven't bought any since our honeymoon and that was 6 months ago so I have held off long enough!!) Also I will pool my birthday money from everyone to make up for spending a good chunk of change :) I found the cutest jeans. They are Paige brand. I had heard of Paige Jeans but for some reason had never tried them on before. They are skinny legged and look adorable with heels. I love them!

So there they are and yes I am a psycho for posting pics of my new jeans... but I am excited this doesn't happen every day ha ha

Sunday was fun because Chris took the day off and got to come to church with me and my family. We spent the weekend at my parents house so we went to their ward and it was a good meeting. Then we relaxed and had dinner at my parents then, went to his parents and had to eat another dinner a couple hours later.... oops. But you can't make anybody feel bad by not eating their meal that they worked hard to prepare. So the conclusion is we are fat girls and we had a great time eating our way through the weekend. ;)

Finger nails

I normally do not paint my fingernails... but last night I decided that I wanted to paint them bright red. So I did and I must say, I am enjoying it. I feel more like a lady and I feel pretty ha ha. But its true. Maybe it is because it makes my man-hands look more feminine or something like that. Regardless, I am loving it!!! Here is a pic for your enjoyment. :)

Zanzibar

Last night Chris and I met up with Scott and Ali and we went out to eat and to Zanzibar. It is a fun and laid back jazz and blues bar in Salt Lake. Chris and I had been there before but they had not and wanted to check it out. We had a great time! The best thing about the night beside the music, was this great old man that was dancing and grooving his little heart out. Ali, Jeanette, and I had actually seen this same dancing-old man at the Utah Arts Festival a few weeks ago. So Ali and I were laughing so hard and were excited to see him again! He would dance and then sit down and take a few sips then he was back at it! Well then the song "I feel like making love to you" came on and the next thing you know. The old dancing man is right in front of Ali dancing to her!! And when it says making love to you he pointed at her!!! We all busted up laughing sooo hard ha ha Only old men could get away with hitting on someone elses girlfriend with their boyfriend watching. It was such a fun chill night! I needed that.

Happy Pioneer Day!

This year I didn't get to celebrate much... Chris had to work so I decided to man up and work as well. But the nice thing about the place we work is that they do big bbq's on holidays and everyone eats for free. Also you get paid time and a half and you get an extra 8 hour holiday to use when you want to!! So they make it worth working for sure. If I wasn't working this is what the family is doing and I would have been participating in. They all go watch the Spanish Fork parade in front of my uncle's gas station and then go to my aunt Jan and uncle Brad's house for a bbq and hanging out. There also are fireworks and a rodeo in Spanish Fork that are options for evening activities.

I think after Chris and I get off work we may see if some friends want to bbq with us or something fun like that.

*recap on weekend*
So I went to girls camp and it was fun! We ate dinner and then all the wards did their skits that went aling with their wards theme and they were all cute. They also did a devotional and then had smores. After that we went back to our camp ground and played games and chatted. Luckily all the girls were tuckered out after staying up late every other night so they were in bed before the leaders were. I was in bed by midnight and was very pleased with that.

The next day we had breakfast and a devotional, cleaned and then headed home. So I was home by 11 am. That was nice! Then Chris and I went to lunch and Cafe Rio and went grocery shopping. Chris had to go to bed early because he worked the next day, so I went down to hang out with my family and spend the night.

At mom and dad's we went out to eat and then rented a movie and hung out. The next day my family spoke in church so Nicole and I went to show them some support. They did a great job! They spoke on faith.

When I got home later that night Chris and I went and hung out with Chris and Tami and John and Stacy. The girls decided they wanted to watch flash backs of my former self... so we watched the hilarious Miss Payson Pageant 2001, which I was lucky enough to participate in along with a bunch of my friends HA HA HA Oh nostalgia.

ONCE AGAIN- HAPPY 24th!!!

Today is the day...

...that I go to girls camp.... I head up after work. I am excited. But am ready to just have the dang thing over with. It has been stressful but I mostly just want to sleep in my nice comfy bed by my cute hubby. Oh well, one night won't kill me and I keep telling myself that when I get up there I will have fun! :)

This week has been pretty mellow. I mostly just relaxed, read, and watched movies. We were gonna go to a show last night but we decided not to because we would have to drive seperate and we have both seen Fiery Furnaces before... I am kinda sad we didn't go because it was free and it would have been nice to get out. But no regrets.

So everyone wish me luck tonight and hopefully we can get everything clean tonight so we can leave first thing tomorrow morning!

Basketball

Last night Chris had a basketball game. He plays in the Clearfield city league with some friends. They all have a great time and are undefeated thus far (there have only been two games, but its a start!) Last night was funny though because this dude on the other team was loud and complained about everything! (and eventually ended up getting a technical for shit talking to the ref ha ha) There is always one of those guys. Well Chris was guarding him and he kept being like, "Did you see him push me? That's the second time! Do I have to land on my head for you to say anything?" ha ha Which Chris wasn't doing, they were just playing and that kid was a sissy. I was laughing so hard becasue he obviously had to sit out for a while and Chris got 4 free throw shots ha ha then that kid tried to get back in the game and the ref said, No no, you have to sit out 5 minutes. Thats what you get for being a whiny little bitch!!!! So thats what we have to look forward to every Monday night. The guys that I know that he plays with are Trace and Skyler and they are both really nice dudes. I know Chris misses playing b ball as much as he used to. But after his injury in high school and then health problems during college ball, he has decided to just play for recreation.

I decided I would find a basketball pic to put in here but then I thought... I could look on Deseret News archives and find actual pics of him, so I did and he was quite the baller so there were lots!! Here is a little photo album of Chris' high school b ball years. He looked a lot learpier then ha ha He would kill me if he knew I did this muah ha ha!!!

You'll love it, GUARANTEED!

Weekend wrap-up

Well this weekend was pretty low-key. My family was camping for most of the week and were supposed to be back by Friday night and Chris and I haven't seen them for a while so we headed down to good ole Payson. But on the way my sis informed me that the only one that was coming home was my dad. Oh well, we will chill with dad for a bit, that will be fun. But when we got there dad wasn't there either, he decided to back up and stay another night after he got off work. My bro Rhett was home though, we saw him for a minute but he was too busy with his social encounters with young girls to hang out with us. ha ha So we were glad that Scott and Ali had wanted to hang out since my family had dogged on us :-P Scott and Ali came down and we got yummy chinese take out and then rented "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas", watched it (well I was bushed so I mostly slept through it) then we just chatted and had fun. But the night ran a little long for my liking... I was soooo sleepy and I had a hair appt at 10:00 the next morning. Finally at 4am the boys aka Chris and Scott decided the night could end and me and Ali could finally get some sleep :)

Saturday I went and had Jaime do my hair at Studio 210 over in Orem. ( I love her, if you need someone to do your hair ,let me know and I will give you her card with a $5 off thing on it) I love chattin it up with Jaim. She is a sweetie! After that, Nicole (my sis) and I went and looked around at Downeast Outfitters, they had nothing good and so we left and grabbed some lunch and by that time Chris was getting antsy for me to get home. Sadly I had to opt out on the pedicures with Colee and I went home to my hubby. Then we packed up Cooper and our stuff and headed back North. We just chilled out all night and watched movies and read our books.... which leads me to my next thing....

I got my next book by Stephenie Meyer, "New Moon" and I started reading it on Sunday before church, then Jeanetter (yes she is back from Europe and dating a fabulous man and is happier than ever and I LOVE IT!!!!!) and I went to my ward together since Chris had to work then, I read a little more, then Chris and I went and ate fabulous meat loaf that his dad made with his parents and hung out for a bit and then we came home and I read all freakin night long minus getting in the tub. I couldn't put the book down!!! I usually make myself go to bed by the time midnight rolls around... no luck I read till my eyes wouldn't stay open anymore aka 1:00am. So I am a little tired today but nothing I can't handle. I love that stinkin book and I read over 300 pages yesterday. So I am excited to finish it today or tomorrow, depending on time constraints... but then that means I will have to wait until August 7th to start the next one. BOO! But Chris will be glad about that, he will have more attention until then!

Twilight

I am kicking myself for not reading these books sooner. My mom read them last year or so for a book club and I remember she raved about them and I kept thinking, I am going to take hers and read them (Twilight and New Moon) But I was in the middle of another, not-as-engaging book and I told myself I couldn't start them until I finished the other one but was not very urgent about it. Chris kept making fun of me saying I would never finish that book, so that was honestly one of my HUGE motivations to finish it ha ha But TV or movies while relaxing at home, were always more tempting than the book I was reading...

One weekend Chris and I went to lunch with our friends Adam and Scott and then afterwards went to the new FYE superstore to browse for an hour or two and I decided I really wanted to buy a book and start reading it because I had already browsed and browsed the music and had picked my selections and was less than interested in conquering the huge DVD selection (odd I know, I usually love looking) or looking at stupid toys and the meager selection of magazines. I decided I wanted to buy a book and read it until they were done perusing. I started looking and then remembered the books my mom had told me about so long ago. The nice young man that worked there showed me where it was (on sale, I like a bargain) I started to read but the boys got done far sooner than anticipated so I only read a couple of pages and was not yet hooked... It took me another couple of weeks to finally finish the other book. Then I decided to start "Twilight". This Sunday was really the first day I had time to sit down and start reading... You can ask Chris, I pretty much ignored him and read every spare second I had for the next 3 days!!! I would have finished it even sooner if I didn't have to work all day and then do chores and go to his basketball game on Monday night (ok I read some of it at the game ha ha) and then last night I had laundry to do and I had to go to Young Womens for a couple of hours. But I finished it last night and I LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT!!!

On Monday I ordered "New Moon" from Amazon and pre-ordered "Eclipse"!!! It comes out August 7th (the day after my b day) I am so excited! So now I am back on the reading wagon and loving it! I just have to find books that grab my attention and then I am hooked!!!

Bottom line, if you haven't read these books, YOU SHOULD.

The best T shirt ever!

So as a surprise, I bought Chris the best T-shirt EVER. It came to me by the Threadless.com newsletter and the second I saw it, I knew he would love it!! So this is what it looks like!

ha ha ha Everyone is always like, "Ya, I liked that band before anyone even knew about them." I can't get mad though, because I am guilty of it. I love finding new bands and introducing people to them. Music is my hobby and I love it!!

The 4th

First I will tell ya how our night o Birthdays with Scott and Ali went. They decided they wanted to keep the bday celebration more intimate, so just the four of us went and ate at the Macaroni Grill at the Riverwoods.
That is one of my favorite restaurants... but sadly I was disappointed in my food selection... it was some sort of chicken ravioli and it had asparagus and sauce over it. Sounds great right? But no, the sauce tasted like cream and chicken boullion (sp?) Eeww. Chris always makes fun of me because I get the same thing everytime at most of the places we eat. But this just proves that safe IS better than sorry... Then we all went and watched "Ratatouille". It was very cute and we all loved it. I will have to purchase it when it comes out on DVD. ;) Overall, a great night with great friends!

The next night the boys aka The New Nervous (our friends band that Scott, Josh, Kellen, and Ryan are in) played up in Logan, so being the good friends that we are, we drove our butts up to BFE to see them play. They did a great job and a couple of the other bands were pretty good but it was a long show with 5 bands and it was hot and I was tired so I fell asleep during the last band ha ha But afterward we went to Rancherito's aka Beto's. (for some reason they are changing all the names..) Which is NOT a top pick for late night dining, BUT we were in Logan at about 12:30 am!! It was in the company of fun friends and reminiscing so it was still a fantastic time.

I love the fourth of July, I have already mentioned that. But it is just a great time for all! This fourth I got to see some of my cousins that live down in St George and all the family that lives up this way. Plus grams and gramps are back from Oregon so it was good to see them. Grandpa is a professor at BYU and is a Marine Biologist so every summer he takes a group of his students out to Oregon on sabatical to have some hands on study action. I love that he loves to do that every summer! Then we cam back up North and watched Layton's firework display with Trace and Ashley. They had some kick A fireworks! They definitely had a bigger budget then the good ole Payson fireworks ha ha

The weekend...

This weekend I went down to Jessica and Todd's wedding reception. It was really cute. They had it in Jess' parents yard and had a bunch of fun desserts to choose from. They looked really happy and it was great weather. After that I went to dinner with my mom and dad and 2 brothers. Then we rented movies and hung out for the night.

Saturday my shopping addiction kicked in... I went to lunch with my mom and bros to CPK. Then went to Norstrom and Banana and could not find a thing to buy! (strange I know!) So I decided to depart from Utah county and head up to Salt Lake, to the Gateway. I found a cute pair of shoes at JMR (on sale) then looked around a little more and found some cute clothes at Forever 21. That place never lets me down and its sooo cheap! I LOVE IT! After that Chris and I went to dinner. :)

Sunday was pretty typical, church, Sunday dinner at Chris' parents and then we cleaned and hung out at home. So overall it was a nice laid-back weekend.

I am soo excited that the fourth of July is coming on Wednesday. I am not gonna lie, it is one of my favorite holidays! Every year we go to Gma and Gpa Braithwaite's house and have a BBQ with the huge family. Gpa makes homemade icecream and rootbeer. It is soo good! So that was actually one pf my reasons for shopping- I always buy a 4th of July outfit or shirt. Cheesy I know.

Tonight Chris and I are going down to our friends Birthday party. It is joint for Scott and Ali! So it should be a lot of fun!
